One that I would have to agree with.

I have found that the best way to share Gods love with non-Christians is not to pelt them with all the ‘rules’ (as many view the Bible) of Christianity. Rather, simply try to embody the scriptures in our every action and interaction. Then Gods love and even the scriptures will be manifest in us and so become more evident to those around us.

Put simply, to practice what you preach.

I think what you have shared explains quite well why only reciting scripture to non-believers will likely not get the message of salvation across.

Well... now that you mention it. Yes, I sometimes feel that way. I do realize I am not everyone on CAA's mother, however. If any of them came to me, I would treat them like my own kids, though. And, I really care about the kids on CAA - I can sincerely say that.

And about your thread, cheers for that, too true. Can't really add anything, I think you've pretty much hit it on the head there, I hadn't really thought about it myself, but it is true what you say, thanks for making me aware of it.

I've actually read other religious works like the Koran, the Buddhist Scriptures, the Book of Mormon, etc., and I can tell you that none of them compare to the Bible. Every time I read one, I felt that while they would say insightful things, they didn't possess any vitality, if you know what I mean. I'd get bored and tired with reading them after a while. They also sometimes contradict themselves. Gandhi admitted that there were verses in the Upanishads that were so contradictory that he wished that they would be removed. Also, while the Buddhist scriptures are somewhat popular, they are somewhat contradictory in that they portray a different view of their founder Buddha and how he felt towards certain issues (such as causing controversy) depending on the text.

The Bible has never been like that to me. No matter how many times I've read a passage before, if I really take the time to study or think about it, I learn to view it or to really take to heart the lesson it teaches in a new way or a way that I haven't been emphasizing in my life. Also, I love the fact that Jesus is the same throughout all the four Gospels and doesn't contradict himself at all if you take the time to really look at what he's saying.
