Surrendering Oneself

Postby Destroyer2000 » Thu Apr 26, 2007 4:11 am

Last night at church, the theme of the sermon was "God's Dream for Us". It was centered around the plan the Lord had for each of our lives, and how all of us should be willing to surrender our own dreams in order to live out God's will for us. It went on to speak of findingout what his plan was for you, and more. But here's what there good part comes in:

Earlier that day, I'd heard the song by Big Daddy Weave called 'Everytime I Breathe' on the radio. Once on the way to school, once on the way home. It was catchy, and I liked it, but something about the song stuck with me, and I couldn't tell what it was. Later it hit me; the line about "After knowing one so great, how could I give anything less than all I have to give?" And that, along with that sermon and the absolutely amazing worship service before that...it was overwhelming. I felt like the Lord had been telling me something, preparing me for that night by letting me hear that song during the day.

In any case, I still do not know what the Lord's plan for my life is. However, no matter what it is, it is His plan, not mine, and I will follow Him. One day I will know what the plan is for my life, and I will try to do what He wants me to do.

Amen.

For me, thats the hardest thing... waiting for him to let me know what he wants me to do with my life. One thing I've learned though is that, since we tend to "fumble the ball" a lot, he moves us step by step. So just remember that. He might give you a vision, but he going to move you slowly. At least thats been my expirience.

Heh, it's funny. I've been discovering exactly what you're discovering. The hard part is trusting Him since He doesn't just go and tell us what the end result will be. But it feels so much better knowing that I'm trying to follow His plan and not just building sand castles.

And I have many times heard a song that either prepared me to hear from God or emphasized what I had heard. I love when He does that. It sort of reminds me that He's always trying to speak to us if we listen.

I know God has plans for all of us in His Will.
"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end."
- Jeremiah 29:11

God has great plans and He'll bless you and give you hope and blessings in the most unexpected way which you'll never think of.

God has plans, just continue to wait on Him and as time passes, His Plan and Will for you will appear as you continue to walk in His Will.

God bless us all :)

To God be the glory,
