Need help with a writing exercise

Until my editors get comments and issues back to me with my book, I don't want to go too far on book 2 (which I'm 34 pages into as of now) so I'm going to do something different so I keep getting practice with fiction writing.
I'll let you guys pick a topic for a short story. I have 3 days to finish the story, in 3 posts, then a new topic is picked. I'll count votes tomorrow if anyone has responded.
EDIT: Ok, maybe I should have given it a better title to begin with. Heh... My next writing exercise should be writing titles. Hmm... Idea.
