Enjoy. *goes to celebrate* Shi-Hi and I were talking about this, and I don't think we have to worry about them butchering anything in translation. DC knows that manga is hitting this country fast, and they can't afford to get a bad reputation for mistranslations or crappy series, so I think the money's a good incentive for them to do a good job if they want to compete with Viz or TokyoPop.

YAy! They've got some of the better titles! I just hope they do better than VIZ, cause they switched the original version and messed up on some of the translations...

I'm pretty optimistic about DC; like Ashley, I'm thinking that since they're one of -the- American comic companies, they can't really afford to screw up manga.

And besides, if Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne goes over well, hopefully Full Moon wo Sagashite will get picked up for translation! :D

I wouldn't bash on Viz too much...if it wasn't for them, I probably never would have started reading manga-- they've been in the game a long time.

I treat manga companies like Viz and Tokyopop like I do dubbing studios--some of their older titles are horrible, but they are getting better as they go. And yup, Viz got me into manga too so I have a soft spot for them.

I'm a big DC comics fan. (Yeah, I'm a superhero nerd.) Its cool that they're making manga translations, but it'd be a lot cooler if they made mangas of their existing characters (like Batman: Child of Dreams or Death the manga. The latter I have never read, but it sold really well.)I guess translations are easier to make though.

Yeah, Ashley, I think Kaito Jeanna is probably a first class ticket for Full Moon. Afterall, most manga publishers really like to stick to the same artists with consecutive series because the fan base is already there after a few titles. So, Woo hoo!

This is good to hear. I have liked a great many DC titles; they have proven to be mature and well done. Most likely they will handle manga just as well, though I wonder what titles they will manage to get.
