I've read One Piece #1...I liked it pretty good. If you like it, you might also consider Rave Master.

I'd definitely go with One Piece. I stopped buying Brain Powered after the second issue because of boredom. However, One Piece is one of the best shonen mangas out there. And, I agree with Inkhana, if you like One Piece and adventure, you'll definitely like Rave Master - it's my favorite.

Along with everyone else, I would go with One Piece. I cannot speak about Brain Powered, but it would have to be extremely good to compete with one of the hottest mangas currently in Japan.
One Piece has decent main characters and development, decent battle sequences, decent humor and some of the strangest villains you have ever laid eyes upon. I'd suggest it to anyone who likes shonen.
