CAA: Christian Anime Alliance

Can some one tell me about One Piece? I read it on the monthly Shonen Jump and loved it!
I want to know about the Bad pionts, like what ages it should be rated... Tobacco, alchohol and violence aren't an issue with me, and language and *bad* situations, if you know what I mean

C'mon guys! Tell me!!! Give me a website! Anything! I wanna know if my mom would let me read it!

Zero suggestive themes. Occasional bad language as in 90% of all action shonen manga.

Um....

I think that's about it ^^;;; It's mostly violence, minor cursing, devil fruit ingestion, dramatic scenes (as in heartwrenching and occasionally shocking as it will be revealed later when Sanji appears)--and that's about it. If insane character designs won't scare you off then I don't recall anything wrong up to the 24th volume that might be very bad for you.

That's me though, and I might a different grasp of things--I guess you could just go to anipike.com or somewhere to get a full review

I love the One Piece manga and the anime. They have some of the best developed characters, with good moral issues of friendship and loyalty. I'm in agreement with PsychoAnn as to how much language is in it. It's never suggestive or nasty. It's shonen. I let my 11-year-old read it, if that helps. And she's still a sweetheart.

The manga rocks but I haven't watched the anime yet. Only concern is devil fruits... a bit of a scary name, but don't be scared away from it if you are a Christian but apparently the fruits are just special fruits that give you powers but make you unable to swim.

so basically PG for mild language? it seems like S*** B*** or F*** would never be used? not a single bad word was on the Shonen Jump Mag that i read

I LOVE one piece!!!! ruffy is sooooo cute and so is zoro!!! *sigh* tis a wonderful manga....oh ya, it doesn't have any of the really BAD language, just like the a word and the d word.

I enjoyed One Piece, though I'm not big on the character designs. I'd agree with what has been said previous about various questionable themes. The anime, at least, gets overextended later on (a la DBZ).

so all in all would it basicly be rated PG? i lil cussing isnt to bad as long as its not senseless or over done

to be honest, im surprised to find a totally inocent manga.... my mom did ask waht i want for chirstmas....*evil laugh*

If someone told you it was totally innocent, that wouldn't be quite right. Then again, perhaps you use the term more generally than I do.

I think the violence would put it in the PG-13 category. Probably R if it was a movie, but the movie industry is crazy.

one piece is realy good! i havn't watched the anime just read the manga. I would rate it Pg-13.

well since voilence isnt an issue.... i just have to find it.... the barnes and nobles in santa rosa didnt even have it!

You can order graphic novels from the shonenjump website, I'm relatively sure. I'm not certain, however, if it's a better deal than purchasing them from a store (if you have to go far enough, however, the shipping and handling might be balanced by gas money and time).
