Hi guys. I am going to ask a question i asked sometime ago wit a little add on. The thread title is what it is so that i can get more responses from you guys on this thread. I need to know more before I buy Angelic Layer. So once again, is Angelic Layer any good? And is there action, comedy and a good storyline? And lastly, how does it rank up next to some of myfaves like kenshin and naruto? Thanks guys. Sorry to bother you, but i want to purchase before tomorrow so it's kinda rushed.

Wiggins, Angelic Layer is one of my favorite mangas. It has a good storyline, some good humor (especially Icchan!), and solid artwork (it's produced by CLAMP). The characters are very likable and the manga is extremely clean. It's not as serious as some mangas out there, but it has its serious moments and overall it's good fun. I would recommend it.

Icchan rules!
Maybe our mistakes are what make our fate. Without them, what would shape our lives? Perhaps if we never veered off course, we wouldn't fall in love, or have babies, or be who we are. After all, seasons change. So do cities. People come into your life and people go. But it's comforting to know the ones you love are always in your heart. And if you're very lucky, a plane ride away.

I also loved Angelic Layer. Definately one of my favorites as well. I haven't seen naruto or kenshin, but I do know it's a bit more light-hearted then they are. It does have some action to it, as well as some comedy and even a hint of innocent romance. I don't think you can go wrong with it, really.

The only thing about Icchan in Angelic Layer is that everyone seems to think that because he dresses in a lab coat and acts kinda weird (mostly it's a funny weird :hits_self ) that means he's "ecchi" (hentai) and some kind of pervert. In the anime he makes his assistant do some weird stuff when the assistant flubs the job, like stuff an octopus up the assistant's nose (think that was it--! :eyeroll: ). Anyway, Icchan appears to not be actually as weird as everyone else (except Misaki) thinks he is, although he still is a Man of Mystery. Other than that I'm really enjoying the manga and anime. I love Misaki's enthusiasm for everything and the "angels" have really neat designs. Wish there was a "Piffle Princess" down the corner from me where I could buy one.....

I'm not sure what could be considered worse.. all the wierd stuff he does in the Anime, or him always yelling at his assistant "or I'm going to kill you!"

Either way it's a great series.

Maybe you're right, I couldn't remember...it's been a couple of weeks since I watched the anime--I got the first DVD for Christmas so I might've gotten it mixed up.

Wherever that octopus wound up, it was kinda weird, anyway....

I haven't read or seen angelic layer (doesn't appeal to me at all) but I have heard good things about it I had to ask the question though why are you talking about the anime in the manga section somehow I don't think that will help in his decision unless he is also talking about the anime and then im really confused as to why this is in the manga thread :eyebrow:

Ah, Angelic Layer has to be one of my favorite CLAMP manga (right up there with X/1999) Definitely worth a read, I'd say.
