TP's Sailormoon Manga

Is Tokyopop's Sailormoon manga a retranslation so it's more accurate than Mixx's version? Do they FINALLY use the real names? Or did they just buy mixx's rights to it and release it with DiC's names and also the edited panels and pages...

I may consider getting the manga from Tokyopop if they fixed it from what Mixx did to it (or continued what DiC did to the Anime)

Well...actually, Mixx is Tokyopop, they just changed their name. o_O Maybe they did change some stuff in the manga though. Let's hope so o.O Why, is the manga being re-released?

Hmmmm don't know if there will be changes . . . I know Fushigi Yuugi is being re-released under new publisher, but is the same. To tell you the truth though, I never really liked the Sailor Moon manga . . . loved the show (til it got a bit too weird) but I read a few of the mang from the R arc and never really got into it. It was too different and more implied stuff in the story.

They used the dub names in the begining (Amy, Mina, Lita, Raye, Darien, Rini, Molly, Melvin...), but they changed Serena's name to Bunny. I think they were trying to be closer to the japanese translation, and you got used to it after awhile. Well, they technically say that her name is "serena" in the first volume, but only call her "bunny" from that point on.

Hotaru, Haruka, Michiru, and Setsuna all kept their names. They left Sailor Chibi Moon as Chibi Moon, and Sailor Chibi Chibi as Chibi Chibi.

I LOVED the Sailor Moon manga. When are they re-releasing the manga? Are they? I need to buy them over again, my copies are so worn...

Mixx and Tokyopop are the same? Man, that sucks... I'm so conflicted... I guess that's why sumomo got the name change... Stupid Tokyopop/Mixx...

Anyhow, you can check their site for what manga they have released... I didn't realize they and mixx were one and the same... At least they didn't ruin Kodocha, they did a good job there [spoiler=mild age warning](but I'm partial to the fansub translation of the Japanese term rather than the word "Gigilo" which doesn't conjur up as much shock when being said by a 12 year old girl... If you don't know what I'm talking about, you should read the manga Kodocha... When you read Gigilo, keep in mind it was a different word that had a slightly different meaning in the fansub for the anime...)[/spoiler]
