Love Hina Manga

Postby Berserk2131 » Tue Mar 16, 2004 8:12 pm

The "Love Hina" manga is worth reading. There is nudity in the manga but the it goes along with the funny story line. There is nudity in each book, but like I said it goes with the story. I suggest this manga and also the anime to most people. Very funny and will bring lots of laughs.

I seen one subbed episode of it. Reminded me too much of Tenchi Muyo... Just silliness all the way through.

Knives, try being constructive if you're going to be critical. Tell us why you don't recommend it.

Oh BTW, Berserk, there's another Love Hina thread lying around here somewhere... you might find it interesting...:)

I don't recomend it because I think it could be considered soft core porn. I look at one of the manga it it had naked bodies on every page!

I think you're overstating the case, Inferno. While there is some nudity, it's not graphic enough to be considered soft core pornography. I would recommend it.

Everytime I go to the store I always consider picking up Love Hina. I've hear opinions from both sides but I'm still not sure what to think. Yes, I am one of those people who goes by what others say, opinions from anyone here at CAA mean a lot but they go so many ways I don't know what to think. So if anything Love Hina is on its own on that ickle list of "undecided" :sniffle:
"Tell me not, in mournful numbers,
Life is but an empty dream!
For the soul is dead that slumbers,
and things are not what they seem.
Life is real! Life is earnest!
And the grave is not its goal;
Dust thou art; to dust returnest,
Was not spoken of the soul."

Just a general word: there will be no argument in this thread. Not only would it be of the non-beneficial type, it would be going over ground already covered in the aforementioned Love Hina thread.

With that, I will not state my particular opinion in regard to this manga.

See you need to go into detail why you don't like it. Just because there is nudity in it some of you automatically put it down. Has any of you read this book. Maybe some of you, but the way some have judged i i doubt it give it thought.

We could "It's good" "No! It's Bad!" All day, but here's the long and short of it. The Nudity presented in Love Hina maybe a stumbling block for some and not for others. Some of us may be able to pick it up with a clean conscience and read it. On the other hand, some of us know that if we were to reaed Love Hina it would only be "giving the devil a foot hold." We must all be sensitive to the spirit in us, and we must also not condemn those who feel differently than us. If they are truly following God's leading, than who are we to chide them.

I have never read Love Hina, and I've always known that God didn't want me to read it. But that's ME. As long as you have carefully considered if what you're read is edifying to your spirit-- well, so be it.
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

I know I said I wouldn't state my opinion here, but I retract my statement...

I have read volumes 1 and 13 (and I feel reading any more would be less than productive in my case). The first for the sake of seeing if I would enjoy the manga, the 13th to ensure that I had not merely experienced a poor start to a good manga. I fear that I still do not feel this is the case. Allow me to state my point.

My primary annoyance with Love Hina is that (for myself) it was: (1) A comedy and (2) not funny. Never has a manga so completely failed to make me even smile. I can understand how some people could find this humorous (and I have a friend who is unable to speak due to laughing while watching most episodes) but frankly I am not impressed by those who do.

While the semi-frequent nudity doesn't bother me that much (not a spiritual weakness of mine), I cannot imagine explaining it to my family (particularly my sister) and I do find it mildly annoying.

I will say that I saw the seeds of excellant character development, but for my situation I do not feel it is worth the cost of reading through everything else.

The sole purpose of this message is to show that I am not merely rejecting based upon a few glances.

I agree with ya. luv hina isnt for everyone. I have read the manga too (all of it). some of it is funny and has deep meaning while alot of it is just keitaro "accidentally" falling down on top of the love hina gals. it gets rather pointless really quick.

I did like volume 9. It had some interesting character development for shinobu. and there is a scene thats really melancholy. I shall not spoil it for those who actually want to read it.

yesh, there is lotsa nudity. i would not recommend it to some of my friends. personally, i would not recommend it to anyone below 15yrs of age or the older and immature ppl that i know.

I did like the character development for shinobu and motoko. thats probably the reason why i finished reading the manga. i wanted to know what happens to those 2. i wasnt too happy with the ending......... not gonna spoil the details.

personally, the parts of the series that i did like where really good and had deep meaning.

thats my 2cents.

I just finished the #9 of the mangas. My friend recommended it, and when I read through the first volume I was somewhat shocked by the nudity (but I got used to it, lol), but was enthralled by the characterization and that caused me to read on. Good characters, especially in Motoko, Shinobo, and Naru. Mutsumi is the source of some comic relief, and it's not all sexual.

It's not all naked people on every page, but still there's nudity on a whole lot of pages.

If ya don't like it, don't read it. That's all I have to say.

God bless ya :)

I'll never understand why manga with exzessive nudity, crude* and lewd* humor are considered mature. *That kinda stuff I think shows bad taste. I even read the little preview at tokyo pop. THat wasn't funny, only degrading and rather distasteful and distgusting. the whoel thing seems kinda opposite of how young men nd laies should act. if it was funny and only it didnt have all that, I'd read it. now, if more manga would be created with the same art quality...
tht's all im gonna say

Indeed, its an okay series. I believe it is okay for some but bad for others. To some it may seem a bit lewd and it might not be good for some ppl of variying levels of maturity.

Personally, It was okay. I just want ppl to be well informed b4 getting into any type of series.

I think that sums up what everyone on this thread wanted to say.
