Neh, neh, I watched a bit of FMA. Good show...don't see why so many people are obsessed with it, but a good show.

o_o Ed's an atheist? Heh, heh, never really noticed, but that wouldn't make the show satanic perse. I know I'd never see him as a rolemodel, and atheism is something to keep in mind when you're watching the show, though. ^^;;;

I already made a thread about FMA, but oh well.

Okay, is it licensed now or something? The number of fans is grown huge on here even though it wasn't licensed last time I checked. All I have is scanlations and one disk of fansubs (can't watch it, need Divx and I am lucky to be able to download FMA scanlations).

FMA satanic? Not even close to the truth. Yes, Ed has connotations of being an atheist but the series is purely secular. If you shy away from FMA because the character is atheistic, then you might as well stop watching anime altogether. Most of the time in anime, either the characters don't believe in a God or they believe in Buddha or Shintoism.

If you are still worried about FMA, here is something. The theme of FMA to me is that there are terrible consequences in playing God. Edward and Alphonse already know this but as the series goes on, they will uncover the true evils of Alchemy. The series definitely makes a statement about the possible problems science can create. If you can look past all the problems the series has at the beginning, you will find a story rich in moral lessons (not religiously, but it terms of sacrifice and science).

I have a review that I wrote of what I saw from my first scanlations, maybe I might update it with the new information and scans that I've found.
