Does anyone make them? If you don't know what an AMV is it's an Anime Music Video. I make them as a hobby on my computer. The youth groups fave is my Sadie Hawkins Dance one with clips from Fruits Basket :jump:

I know of quite a few....

Here's some URLs. But no... I don't make them. I can tell a good one from the rest though ^_^

http://www.other-space.com/aamv/
http://www.everything-anime.com/
http://www.feanorsamv.com/
http://anime.haproductions.com/
http://www.otakuproductions.org/

http://www.randomvariable.net/
http://simperson.rh.rit.edu/
http://vicbond007.kaytwo.com/

Simperson is more of an archive. But if you sift through it you can find real awesome AMVs.

I'd really like to make an AMV sometime. But i'm still looking for the footage and the music...

God Bless

I've been to everything-anime.com a few times; got the Cowboy Bebop AMV off of there. The rest of those sites I will have to check out.

I can pretty much figure the ones who will post quick on this thread. :rolls_eye

You could also try

http://www.animemusicvideos.org

For a really cool video, especially if you're a Trigun fan follow the link below. It uses Rufus Wainwright's song 'Hallelujah', and is a tribute to Wolfwoord. I saw it at Anime North this year, and just thought it was really cool (so did the Judges)

There's a few favourites i have....

Dark Side Productions - November Rain. You can search for it under Samurai X on AMV (it might be called Kyoto Rain)

VicBond007 - Shining Collection. Great AMV. I highly recommend it to any Ah! My Goddess

VicBond007 - This Isn't What We Meant. THE BEST Evangelion AMV EVER. Get it. Unless, of course, you have objections with the series

JB (Feanor AMV) - Touched. Lodoss Wars. Awesome AMV

JB - Innocente. Lunar: Silver Star Story. It's quite a dramatic AMV. Glad i found it

JB has some nice other ones too, like Berserk, Final Fantasy, etc.

Random variable has a few nice FF9 ones.

One called Something Like You by NSync actually is really awesome. You should take a look, but you'l have to search on AMV.org

God Bless!

> November Rain.

Is this the track from the Ranma 1/2 Hot Song Contest album?

I did 2 AMV
-Evangelion with Bring me to Life by Evanescence
-Gundam 08th MS Team with Crawling in the Dark by Hoobastank
And I'm currently working on another Evangilon video with Innocent by Our Lady Peace
They're on Kaaza, but since I'm one little person in millions of users, the odds of finding them are low... but I'll try to find a place where I could put them

And for great AMV (mainly on the Final Fantasy series) go to

http://www.morethantoast.com

that's another great AMV site; these guys have won awards for theirs too. The trigun ones from it are pretty awesome. (beware though, the tenchi ones are the unedited version, just FYI).

As for making an AMV, I have and this is what I did: I hooked a vcr to my computer (actually dad did, so I can't tell you how), ran a software called Pinnacle Studio 7, which lets me play my tape and record it to my harddrive. I'd scan the tapes manually and find the sections I wanted, then arranged them just so. Finally, I dropped out the audio and plugged in the music instead on the soundtrack. Voila, amv.

Any chance of those in MPEG, maybe? WMV is kind of an unwieldy format.

Hmmm....I can try and convert them. If you have AIM I can send em to you via that after they have been converted.

Those were great! I loved the Fruits Basket one. Actually, it's still going in the corner of my screen. The Sadie Hawkings Dance - what a perfect song for FB!

Probably the most appropriate one I've seen (term used regarding matching content - NOT regarding suitability for all audiences) was an AMV of Urusai Yatsura (those obnoxious aliens) with clips of Lum to the Cranberries, Linger. Since it's a Takahashi anime, I can't really recommend it for all audiences, however. I don't know if anyone has done a review of this anime, though.

I think a relative of my wife does these. Come to think of it, she should show him this site....

Does anyone know a site where I could host my videos, so I could show them here?

Gypsy: Thanks! The Sadie Hawkins Dance one is my post popular ones!

Kirika: I used an old angelfire account to host mine on here.

Particle Man is a popular song to do an AMV to. I've seen Ranma and 1/2 to that song and I did one to the song as well!

My favorite AMV (so far) was actually made from cut-scenes from FFIX - so I'm not sure if it'd count as an anime music video ... Gravity of Love by Enigma was the song used, and I cannot for the life of me remember the guy's name that put it together.

I've been getting tons of ideas lately for AMVs, so I may break down and make one of my own pretty soon. We'll see anyway.

Someone made a KH one to that song. One that I saw that was hillarious was a Trigun one to Weird Al's the Beer Song.

I saw one called "Tainted Donuts" the other day...and while the song was in Japanese, I found it quite enterataining anyway...
Apparhently I'm not the only one that thought it would be funny if the bebop crew went after Vash. ^^

Oh yeah, did you guys know that CAA's making it's own AMV? The song is "For the Moment I Feel Faint" by Reliant K...and the animation is all original. Isn't that cool?

There are many. Well, it kinda depends. If your AMV(s) are like 4.20MB thats good. Because you can fit acouple on one FREE Angelfire account. Angelfire gives you 50MB of space. If it gets full, just make another free account!

One thing to warn you with. If you want to upload your files on either]Angelfire[/URL].

Actually, Nekomi is hand drawing all the frames, and running it together with some pencil test thing, I think. I get to color everything in photoshop, frame by frame. ^^
