Best Of 09' (starting early)

So we're one fourth of the way through the year, and I was wondering what everyone thought was the best CD's released in 09 so far.

For me the top two are....

Fangs! -by- Falling Up.
An awesome concept album about a diplomat to a foreign planet whose choices are accidentally putting the main characters home planet's children into comas. Epic spacy sound, neat lyrics, and great production done by Casey Cresenzo of "The Dear Hunter." Even if you didn't like any of their older stuff you'll probably enjoy this one.

The Hazards Of Love -by- The Decemberists.
Another concept album, though this one is more of a dark fairy tale about impossible love. It still has that signature Decemberists dark folk rock sound...Great instruments, great lyrics...(Well some of them are very dark, like "The Rakes Song" but all of them are good nonetheless.)

Oh, golly.

Fiction Family - Jon Foreman and Sean Watkins sound really nice together. I hope they collaborate again.

Thursday - Common Existence - I really enjoyed A City By the Light Divided, but this one really made me smile. It's loud, heavier, and more chaotic than Thursday has been in a while.

Mastodon - Crack the Skye. Really good stuff.

Manchester Orchestra - Mean Everything to Nothing - If this weren't a mewithoutYou year, this album would probably get my vote for album of the year.

Two Tongues - Max Bemis of Say Anything and Chris Conley of Saves the Day. Really fun record. It's not the best, but it's very enjoyable.

Kelly Clarkson - All I Ever Wanted - I am dead. freaking. serious.

That CAN'T be all I've bought this year. I'm gonna go have to go check my CD rack. I know I need to get the new Cursive, The Number 12 Looks Like You, and the new As Cities Burn.

Honestly, I'm looking forward to the second half of '09 more than the first. The Chariot, mewithoutYou, Showbread, Say Anything, Brand New, Bob Dylan, Poison the Well, The Dear Hunter, Switchfoot, Blindside, Cake, Converge, and Saves the Day all have records coming out this year.
I'm a shoe-in for hater of the year.

I forgot Thursday's new one! Woe is me. And dude even though you didn't like their earlier stuff you really should check out Fangs! by Falling Up. I can almost guarantee you'll enjoy it.

Oh man, there's still so much coming out...but I think I already have a couple of favorites cemented in the yearly list. XD

Manchester Orchestra -- Mean Everything to Nothing: AMAZING album. April 22nd, get here faster.

mewithoutYou -- It's All Crazy! It's All False! It's All a Dream! It's Alright: I was able to get ahold of a leak of this, and it's incredible. So different, but still so good. I love this band so much. XD

As for the rest of this first part of the year, I have yet to get the chance to hear the new Thursday or the new Decemberists (I know, I need to get on that XD), but with the release of new Brand New, Showbread, Regina Spektor, Thrice, Future of Forestry, Fun, Emery, Meg & Dia (yes I am excited for this shut up) and the gradual release of Mae's new work, there is SO much more to be looking forward to. XD

EDIT: AW FRICK THE DEAR HUNTER. I KNEW I was forgetting something! I'm EPICALLY STOKED for Act III. It's taken so long for them to finish it but I cannot WAIT. XD
