I can't believe this! Madonna, the queen of reinvention, has turned 50! So, do any of you think she should hang up her vocal cords or do you think she should still make records and such.

I think she should have hung up her vocal cords long ago >_> I've never even liked her singing XD.

Eh, it's doubtful. I mean 4 Minutes has brought in a lot of money. If you could still sell records, why would you stop? ^^;

Also I've always liked her music so...really doesn't bother me either way. It's just her lifestyle and choices I don't agree with. ._.

Geesh... she's older than my mom...

But by all means, if there's still money in the business and still some kick in you then don't stop what you're good at...

What on earth... when somebody turns 50, does that mean they have to hang it up, move along, retire...?

Let's face it: Madonna could record a series of belches and some people would still buy it. So, so long as it reflects positive cash flow, who cares about artistic value? Gotta put food on the table...

This should be in Jam Session. And now it is. Rocklobster, pay attention to where you post your threads.

I actually strongly disagree with this. XD Music is an art form, and should be treated as such. It loses its soul if it's simply being made to make money. Yes, it IS a way to bring in cash flow, but if there's no artistic intent behind it, then what makes it worth listening to? Any art form, be it movies, design, music, etc. stands the risk of losing quality when it's being produced for money only.

And come on, she's Madonna. I highly doubt her bank account would suffer if she stopped making music. XD

The reason I put her in General Entertainment is that she's also an actress, RD. So I wasn't really sure where to put her. Gomenosai.
