iTunes questions...

Ok, I know this is going to sound really odd...but I need to know exactly how iTunes works.

For a long time now I have wanted to be legal in my music downloading (and I actually have an legal site), but iTunes has so much...especially in Japanese music, which nobody else will get. So I thought about getting it.

Problem?

Like...nobody will give me an answer of how the freaking site works. Even the official site is confusing as heck. All I can find is deals and junk for people who already know what they're doing...which, yanno. Is just SO helpful for newcomers.

I know a girl I use to work with has it and she got some Japanese music and stuff from the site, but when I questioned her on it, she really didn't help much. All she said was that you needed an Ipod (which I don't have) which led me to wonder...do you even need an Ipod to listen to it on your computer?

Even when I downloaded music illegally, I never cared to burn it. Most of the time I just listened to it on my computer and that was it. I figured iTunes would just allow you to do the same, but the way she worded it, you can't even preview the songs unless you own a retarded Ipod. If that's the case, I'm sorry, but although I won't stay illegal, I must say that's total bull. I honestly don't want a freaking Ipod and think it's really retarded and unfair if I must buy one just to listen to music.

I mean...can somebody help me here? This is just really frustrating for me. For once I decide to do what I feel is the right thing and now it's like nobody will let me. If I had the money I'd even buy some CD's of my favorite Japanese artists, but dang...with gas and stuff going up right now, I can't afford anything so spendy. I just want some music again...

I don't know what your friend is talking about because that's totally not true. Though I do own an iPod, you can have an iTunes account to simply use as a media player for your computer]here[/URL] and click the "Download iTunes" button. After installing it, you can either use it to rip and organize your own music collection or you can create an account via the iTunes Store (there will be a way to connect to the store through the iTunes application).

To create an account, you DO have to have a credit/debit card number to enter, so you have a way to purchase songs. After this, you can search for songs and artists, listen to previews of the songs, and download/purchase the songs that you want. It's really pretty simple, and you definitely don't need to own an iPod to make it work. XD Have fun downloading! 8D

Actually, just to be pedantic, you can also pay by paypal, though, naturally, you would then have to give paypal a credit/debit card or otherwise fund that account.

iTunes is really easy. I don't know what other people couldn't really give you an easy answer. And I download Japanese music from iTunes as well. It has a really good (surprisingly) selection. ^_^

Itunes is really easy to work with. You don't need an Ipod just to use Itunes. I think what she meant that Itunes can be used to transport music to an Ipod or Ipod Shuffle if you had one. You can still use Itunes just for listening to music.. As I am doing now ^^

You don't even have to use the store, but if you do it's $1 a song.. I think ^^ Pretty good deal eh?
