Weezer Pork and Beans Video - All Internet Nerds Must Watch

I think every random, viral video from the last ten years has been spoofed in the new Weezer music video. Peanut Butter Jelly Time, the kid who plays Pachelbel's Canon on the guitar, Numa Numa, Chris Crocker, Star Wars Kid..it's all here.

However, my favorite is Pat playing the drums with a pair of lightsabers. Look for it at the end. It's beautiful.

Even the Chris Crocker cameo, though I may loathe his attention-garnering ways, was great. I still think Pat playing drums with the lightsabers is amazing. Pat is my hero.

Eh.

I like Weezer and this song, but the video is extremely lame.

I am almost certain this video has curbed the US suicide rate.

Right. To be honest, I felt the selection of memes was fairly mainstream and it seemed pretty superficial overall. The lyrics seem to be against the record industry, at least as I understand them on first listening. That's too bad, because that suggests the video is implicitly supporting this kind of thing instead of mocking the internet phenomenon.

Not nice? It definitely wasn't mean! I love the video. Sorry you and UC disagree. I enjoy it greatly. Also, UC, as for your comments...well, I KIND OF agree with your assessment of the lyrical content but I think the song is more about being yourself and in that theme is the theme of the video. I think it's just about being yourself...these people represented in this video are typically considered laughing stocks, the butts of some collective joke. I don't think it's NEARLY as deep as you've interpreted it. I mean, this is the same band who penned Buddy Holly and Pink Triangle. It just doesn't bother me if they're catering to the masses because they've been doing it for years. I listen to Weezer because they write fun and catchy music that I identified with when I was an angst-ridden adolescent, not for internally consistent social commentary.

Exactly Weezer is the BOSS!! Pork and Beans vid reminds me of OK Go's Here It Goes Again. The same genius concept..that is Youtube worthy.
