From what I've heard I really enjoy these guys sound and I was wondering if anyone could give me info on the content of their CD's, specifically "Amputechture." I've been thinking about buying.

The band themselves say the album is a commentary on how much "organized" religion is destroying the world.

Hmmm...I don't like the sound of that. Do you got any info on what the other two albums are about?

Frances the Mute has some sexual references. Plus, I can't recommend that album in good conscience anyway. 45 minutes of ambient noise + 15 minutes of actual songs doesn't constitute a good album to me. XD

It's not anti-Christian, just to clarify.

Some of their members believe in a higher power. They're just not religious.

And they have a point. I may be a Christian, but there's no way I can be religious.

But that's for another time and place.

Yeah that's cool...It's just when I hear people saying something is anti-religious stuff by secular artists I automatically think that they are speaking badly about christianity. It's sad that its that way, but that's the general trend.

Yeah I don't disagree with what you said about not being religious but I think that it's inclomplete semantically. But as you said Beau, that's for another time and place.

The content on the first album, De-Loused In the Comatorium, is fine, and I highly, highly recommend it. It is excellent. I don't remember any profanity or anything like that.

Their second album, Frances the Mute, has some sexual content toward the middle of the album, but like Annette said, it's really not even that good. It has one or two good songs on it amidst the 45 minutes of ambient noise.

I haven't heard Amputechture but I probably won't pick it up after how disappointing Frances the Mute was. I'll just listen to De-Loused and old At the Drive-In records if I want to hear Cedric Bixler-Zavala and Omar Rodriguez-Lopez doing stuff.

Definitely pick up their first album, though. Wow. It's fantastic.
