CAA: Christian Anime Alliance

Ok, well here is the rundown kiddies...I'm thinking of starting a Christian webradio. Specifically, I'm trying to start a station that plays music like Rich Mullins, Mewithoutyou, Sixpence None The Richer, and other christian band/singer/artists in that vein, as well as some of the deeper elements of worship as embodied by Rich Mullins. I need suggestions people!

well, more "christian" indie bands I'd consider checking out for your station would be: Mutemath & Turn Off The Stars. Toothandnail.com has a bunch of christian indie/alt rock bands now. Some which are just as mellow as Sixpence.

Mae and the ones Ichigo mentioned are the only ones i can think of

Copeland, Emery, Watashi Wa, Terminal, Number One Gun, Grammatrain, Kevin Max, Apt Core, Lucerin Blue, Brave Saint Saturn, Subseven, Slow Coming Day, Further Seems Forever, Stavesacre, Embodyment, Starflyer 59, Joy Electric are some ones that I'd recommend.

'Indie" by my friends is classified as an Independant music-wise. That means they aren't involved with a record company and produce their own CDs usually giving them a more raw sound.

That is true indie music TD...But there is the indie sound. Copeland is a good example of being a non indie band with an indie sound.

Another one you might want to check out, Zarn, is Hundred Year Storm.

I think people have totally lost sight of what Indie means, or didn't now what it meant in the first place. Indie does NOT mean being disconnected from a record company. Independent RECORD COMPANIES (i.e. The Militia Group, who Copeland is with) are record companies that were started by people who love music to promote small bands.

So, yeah, many of the bands that That Dude listed are very much indie bands.

Yeah I put Copeland up as an non indie band with an indie sound because they just signed to a major label...Atlantic I think....

Did they? I didn't pay attention to that on the album.

My point stands, though. Indie doesn't mean unaffiliated with a record label. Copeland isn't indie anymore because they moved to a major record label.

Yeah they joined right after they released Eat, Sleep, Repeat on TMG.
