Good place to buy J-Pop

It seems like "inexpensive" and "j-pop" are two words that do not go together. Does anyone know where I could find a place to buy J-Pop that will not take me two months to save up for one CD? Thanks!

Legally, nowhere.
That is, unless you're a fan of the artists distributed in America.

Ah, well, that stinks. Maybe one of the vendors on amazon will sell 'em cheap.

eeeeeeeeeeeeebay! XD I'm not sure what you're looking for, but ebay is a (usually) reliable resource for jpop. The only jpop stuff I own came from ebay. Give it a shot =D You might wanna try half.ebay.com, too. It's like... amazon, I guess, but it's run by ebay.

If you want to actually support the artists you like, avoid eBay.
Most of the stuff on there is bootlegged anyway.

No it's not >.> Anime-wise, yes, much of ebay has pirated anime. But I've never seen a bootlegged jpop cd on ebay.
And in the scope of supporting jpop artists, there's no single real way to do that unless you go to Japan and buy them from an actual cd shop. Importing is pretty much the same as ebay, in terms of supporting the artist.

Nope. If you import them, they see the same amount of money as they would if you bought it in Japan.
At least, that's what I've been told.

I've seen some listed on Amazon.ca (note to "ca") and some of the JPOPs I found were at import, 50 bucks!! BUT, in localish comic shops that have anime/manga and stuff I've seen CDs, and REALLY new too (this was a while ago and they already had stuff like the xxxHOLiC TV series OST) for at the same price as a usual Cd around here (well, depending where ya shop) for $20. So depending on where ya look it's not always too bad...

A general rule is that you'll never see a Japanese import cost less than 30 dollars.
Any lower, it might be a bootleg. The bootleggers are making it harder to tell nowadays, so you have to be careful.

I've found yesasia.com reasonably priced. I got an Ayumi Hamasaki CD on there for $17 and shipping. I've seen the site mentioned in Newtype and Shojo Beat, so I would assume it's legit and not selling bootlegs.

Yesasia seems like a good place... I had wanted to buy some of Do as Infinity's CDs, and I can get the for half of what I could get them for at Amazon. Thanks for your replies, everyone!

They looked REALLY authentic to me :/ And being a well-known comic branch, I DOUBT they'd sell fakes of something :/

My point exactly.
Some of the places you'd least expect do in fact sell bootlegs. Atomic Comics (the major comic store in this area) has been busted on more than one occasion.
