Hey, anybody heard of this band? I've heard their stuff and I have no interest in it, but I was wondering. Are they really considered Christian? If so, then why in the world would a Christian band name themselves ZombieGutz? Their site said it started as a joke...
But seriously, does anyone know anything about them? Stuff I've read is rather negative, but then, they are rather conservative sites that have bashed them. Thus, the reason I ask you guys.
Help?

What makes a "Christian" band a "Christian" band?

No, I'm not even going to start that.

From what I've heard Zombie Gutz are Christians and yeah, the name is a joke. Look at the way guts is spelled? With a Z! What isn't humorous about that?

My categorization of a Christian band, is one with Christ-centered lyrics, and their lives are obvious witness to the life Christ has given them. Anyone can write Christ-centered lyrics, without being truly a follower of Christ. But musicians are role models, whether they like it or not, and their lives should be an example to follow. That's my opinion.
Now, if we are talking instrumental music, I think the only thing that can qualify it as Christian or not, is the witness of their lives.
I have a serious problem with something being considered Christian just because it has a positive message. I really think it goes way deeper than that.
Anyway, that's what I meant when I asked if they were Christian.

Their name makes me giggle.

But hey, Audio Adrenaline did have that song "Some Kind of Zombie", which was great. So the name isn't too terribly odd.

Ah, okay.

I haven't heard anything particularly bad about Zombie Gutz as people, and there's nothing really wrong with their music. It isn't overtly Christian with a high Jesus per minute ratio in the lyrics so by your definition, they are not.

Well i have to disagree with Jamie on the lyrical stand point. If you deffiniton of a Christian band is Christ-centered lyrics then add them to your list. In the song Bo Fever the say GOD you will never leave me!! So thats pretty straight to the point of Christianity. They aren't afraid of saying God and Jesus. There lyrics have been getting alot of controvesy because lord knows why but they aren't a band to shy away from being Christian. They call themselfs a Christian band. So with all that said they are a Christian band (IMO) sure there lyrics aren't straight forward as say Casting Crowns but that grows annoying after awhile constantly preaching during there music. Zombie GutZ is metal so they are not sposed to have clear lyrics that are all happpy and like "Jesus loves You lets be friends" they are more "The world is pretty messed up but don't worry God Loves you" so its a matter of oppion. Anyways that just might have made me sound stupid or Jerkish but i didn't mean for it to sound like that.

EDIT: [Qoute] But musicians are role models, whether they like it or not, and their lives should be an example to follow. [/Quote] Yes they are thats a BIG given and Zombie Gutz show that they are Christians from my understanding they are pretty open about there Christianity
