Norma Jean - Redeemer

Man, I was kind of disappointed with O' God, the Aftermath but I think their new album, Redeemer, is going to be pret-ty good.

They have a few songs floating around on PureVolume and MySpace. A Small Spark vs a Great Forest and The End of All Things Will Be Televised are both great. They kind of have a more organic, raw feel similar to the first Norma Jean album. More dischordant than the stuff on O' God, the Aftermath, which could be due in part to the production of Ross Robinson (At the Drive-In, the Blood Brothers, Glassjaw). Robinson produced quite a few mainstream radio hits, but working with ATDI, the Bloods, and Glassjaw...he's quite well-versed in indie rock. Make of that what you will, but I think that's kind of cool considering I like two out of those three bands I mentioned in the parentheses next to his name.

On the musical side of things, Cory Brandan is finally experimenting more with his voice instead of using that same old "I've got a mouth full of marbles" voice from O' God. The songs I've heard just feel better as a whole.

It drops September 12th.

I hated his voice in O' God. It was on the exact same note for the entire album. Not appealing.

I know. I hated that, too. It was very uncomfortable to listen to. However, I'm enjoying the new stuff a lot more.

This is a great album...Much better follow up than O God. Which wasn't bad...It just didn't live up to the name "Norma Jean." Anyway I was wondering when you were going to get to this one Kkun.

If you go to their Myspace sight they have the whole CD to listen to...You can't download or even add the songs but you can listen to the whole CD. It was pretty good...I'll probably be getting it as soon as it comes out.

Sweet. I'll probably just wait until Tuesday to listen to it, though. If it's better than O' God, that's all I care about.

It's definately better than O God. Not as good as BTMKTC but closer to it's goodnees than I thought it would be.

....this CD has got some SERIOUS breakdowns on it.

Creative breakdowns. More than just "chugga chugga feedback chugga feedback chugga chugga."

I just got back from best buy and i am listening to Redeemer as I type and just from the first track I am amazed. Its really good

This is some crazy awesomeness. IMO, Norma Jean at their very best. And how can you ever go wrong with a price of only $8 bucks? C'MON PEOPLE!! BUY THIS ALBUM!!! :bang:
