I am trying to find some christian bands that are clean, and yet have a feel of AC/DC or Metallica (2 bands I am not allowed to listen to). If you know of any tell me!

While not the hardest stuff ever made, Saviour Machine and Virgin Black are good for your soul and may or may not improve your parent's opinion of metal in general. I have to admit, my main familiarities though are the Gothic, Industrial, and EBM genres and Electronic genres. However, you should probably take the time to browse through the myspace bands thread to see if you like anybody.

The Showdown is a Christian band. I would suggest Project 86 Norma Jean, although I don't know much about Norma Jean.

Thousand Foot Krutch is Christian as is Creed but I'm not sure those are what you want...

Well....I don't know much at all about AC/DC or Metallica....and I tend to have a hard time saying "Oh, this is this genre". XD Buuuut....well...I am a Panhead, so, it's pretty much obligatory for me to say this:
Have you ever heard of Skillet? They're metal...some sort of metal. XD John sometimes sings with a gruff voice, but he doesn't do the...'death metal growls' I think you're referring to. Their official webpage is skillet.com . It links to their MySpace where I've heard they have a clip from the new single up (I have the single from iTunes, it's GREAT <3), and you can also download one of their songs from their last album on their website (I forget which one--I *think* it's Fingernails, but I can't remember...). Kinda sounds like what you might be looking for....

Skillet isn't metal. They do have some metal themes but they mostly are hard alt. rock and industrial.
It's hard to find metal that doesn't involve screaming/growling/grunting/shrieking etc. Try Project 86, Emery, Demon Hunter, and Pillar. You asked for Christian bands so why list non-Christian bands? However, do you just want Christian bands due to your parents thoughts on the matter. If not, there are plenty of good non-Christian bands that would better fit your music search. But then again - you could just listen to Matellica and AC/DC then.

Sorry. ^^; Like I said, I don't know much about genres. But, what little I've heard of AC/DC or Metallica, they didn't really sound like bands like Demon Hunter, so....*shrug*
But yeah, the 'genres' I use to define stuff is very..vague. "Rock, pop, hip-hop/R&B, jazz, classical, country". XD

Same here. XD I don't know of many metal/hardcore/whatever Christian bands (actually, I think I do, I just never listen to them, so I can't say whether they're great or not XD), but I can suggest some Christian rock groups. House of Heroes and Anberlin are two Christian rock bands that are constantly found in my CD player. Not really sure of any other bands to recommend, though. I'm kind of drawing a blank, here.

Note about Creed, although their lead singer (Scott Stapp) is a Christian, Creed isn't a Christian band.
Many ask if Creed is a Christian band, and their reply is always no[...]

On topic, rurouninaruto, if you're looking for Christian "Metal" have you tried
Nodes of Ranvier (any of their CDs before 2005)? Their not
super 'Heavy' Metal, though they still kinda sound like dogs barking at some points, most Metal bands do.
Seems like you're looking more for *Hard Rock*, then Heavy Metal....?

Megadeth is a Christian band, that is in the same genre as metalica (thrash metal) they were't christian till recently. They are Christian but their CD "the system has failed" is their only christian album. Their sweet and Christian! YEAH!

Yep, you should probably listen to Eric here, he has an incredibly vast collection of Heavy Metal music. As to Skillet, from what I've heard of them, I would not classify them under Industrial music although it is obvious they have an Industrial influence.

No they're absolutely not.
Mustaine might've gotten saved, but he's not letting it influence his writing except for subtle imagery.

Particularly on Alien Youth and their previous albums. Collide is more mainstream rock-ish.

Yeah, Collide doesn't have much of a 'Industrial' influence at all.
The band has said that the new album will have some of the synths again, but it'll be more 'subtle'. On the new single I haven't heard many synths--I think what's there is just little background effects.

Here's a few...
Beloved - hardcore. (they have screaming but it's mostly coherent.)
Blindside - hard rock/hardcore (depends on the album.)
Falling Up - alternitive/hard rock/rap rock (sounds similiar to Linkin Park but they still have their own sound)
I know a lot more but they are more on the heavy screaming and yelling side. I would recommend The Showdown as well...You should also check out Petra and Gaurdian.

I have to say, that... I'm not really a fan of black metal.. yet... but I'm falling head over heals for Slechtvalk at the moment... they have some of the most beautiful meoldies. Christian too I think. But yea, they have some harder stuff but I love their slower stuff like In Paridisium, War of the Ancients, and Under a Moonlit Sky.
Oh yea I have a list of Christian metal bands I posted somewhere on here. ITs alot calmer stuff than Slechtvalk... but I forgot where I posted them... I'll try to find it and post em back here.

Slechtvalk was a Christian band when it was just a solo project; Falconry was the only cd released by Slechtvalk as a Christian band. Afterwards, when Slechtvalk became a full band, they considered themselves neutral.
