CAA: Christian Anime Alliance

Konichiwa, all.

I love world music. So much so that I wasted tons of my hard earned money on these instruments: A bodhran, djembe, Taiko drum, didgeridoo, and tabla.

Does anyone play? I can't get enough of world percussion as you can see [with the exception of the didg....I just love the sound ^^]. If anyone plays, list your instruments and favorite songs to do! Also, if anyone has bodhran or tabla advice, it would be much appreciated.

Bodhrans do indeed rule. Though it's hard to play. I've been playing since February or so, and I'm finally getting the hang of it. Huzzah. We should start a band. *guffaws*

Your brother is incredibly cool all of the sudden. Didgeridoos will do that. I play it from my rooftop. My neighbours think I'm involved in some sort of strange ritual.

All in all, the didg is a very soothing and mesmerizing instrument...at least in my opinion. My neighbours think it more resembles a long, drawn out agonized cry of a dying walrus.

I don't play, but if you like the Didgeridoo, you might want to check out the Swedish/Finnish band 'Gjallarhorn'. They use the instrument in much the same capacity as the Swedish bagpies, although with a rather different sound.

I play Celtic music on a hammered dulcimer as part of a trio that includes a flutist and a bodhran player.

i play the acoustic guitar which is used all over the world! lol ok its not that funny but i thought it was
there's tons of world instruments i wish i could play lol
