Since I kind of like posting track lists for albums that are going to be released soon and starting the threads for discussing those albums, here's the track list for mewithoutYou's new one, Brother, Sister.
This is the CD I really can't wait for. It can't come out fast enough. mewithoutYou have always been a little bit out there, and this is going to be no different. Having heard one of their new songs, "In A Sweater Poorly Knit," it's going to be fantastic, I think.
So, Brother, Sister, due September 26.
1. Messes of Men
2. The Dryness and the Rain
3. Wolf Am I! (and Shadow)
4. Yellow Spider
5. A Glass Can Only Spill What It Contains
6. Nice and Blue (Part Two)
7. The Sun and the Moon
8. Orange Spider
9. C-Minor
10. In a Market Dimly Lit
11. O, Porcupine
12. Brownish Spider
13. In a Sweater Poorly Knit
Aaron Weiss has been talking about the CD saying that he doesn't think it'll be embraced by Christian bookstores (which I work at now, oddly enough XD) or by all the kids who loved the last album.
I dunno. mewithoutYou can basically do no wrong in my eyes. They aren't the most ministry minded band, but their heart is in the right place and their love for God and other people is always brightly shining.

Yeah. They aren't really for everyone, but if you're one of those people who like them, they kind of get under your skin. A->B Life and Catch For Us the Foxes are two of the most powerful albums I've ever heard, thematically and lyrically. mewithoutYou really is an acquired taste.

I've seen some of their videos on TVU and I must say, for what wierd taste I have as well, I can't stand them. The main guy looks more like some dude with terets they asked to be in their video and he never really sounds like he's, ya know, "singing." Sounds more like he's talking (in an irritating way) to music that doesn't exactly fit.
I guess, as you said, they ain't for everyone. :/

Yeah they're a love or hate band...There's no fence with these guys. I love them...Though I gotta say that I started out hating them, but I just grew to love them.

"In a Sweater Poorly Knit" reminds me of "Son of a Widow" a great deal, but much better. There's a great deal more instrumentation in it, such as the use of a harp and Aaron plays the acoustic guitar and then switches to the accordion midway through. It's amazing.
Here's a very good quality live video of it:

Yeah, they really are, but I dunno. Once you learn to like them, they are truly amazing. Their music is fantastic, and whether he looks like a guy with tourette's or not (XD) Aaron's passion is incredible.

I gotta get on a computer that'll let me watch it...I can't on this one. And now I'm sad.

It's absolutely gorgeous. I just listened to it again. Also, don't worry about it being kind of a mellow song, because they have some rockin' stuff on it, too. Messes of Men, O' Porcupine, and this one unnamed song I saw on live videos all absolutely rule.

I met the lead singer of mewithoutyou! He was kind of sick and pukey at the time, though....otherwise I would've totally gotten a picture with him.
Mewithoutyou is definitely an acquired taste...but once you get into their stuff...oh man...it's so awesome. Currently, "Gentlemen" is one of my favorite songs ever....
If you want my link to my photobucket site, I have some photos from them performing there

But you sit there silent, folded arms and you smile as I walk by and my face has changed, but you know it's me, you know it's me, come and whisper in my ear, "You're very pretty dear, and it'll be alright!" You're lying, but I don't mind tonight!
>_> I love that song.

So from what I've heard through the grapevine it sounds like the new stuff is going to be somewhere in between A ---> B Life and Catch For Us The Foxes.

Somewhat, IMO. Take all the good parts of both and then add in some new good stuff and multiply it by five and I think that's what the new one will be like.

I just saw mewithoutYou in concert at Purple Door in Pennsylvania. I knew nothing about them and didn't know what to expect. Wow. They opened with Nand and Blue Pt. Two, and I was amazed. Then they finished the concert with In a Sweater Poorly Knit. Wooooooooooooow. That song made me feel something I don't think I had ever felt before. Hearing it live was simply amazing. I am hooked now. And it's funny because their style is not one I would have expected to like so much.

XD Hearing things like this does my heart good.
I can't wait until Brother, Sister drops. Thankfully, I'll have school and work to distract me until then. >_>

I just saw them perform "A glass can only spill what it contains" last night. I gotta say it was pretty darn awesome. They also had a song about Jesus as he was being crucified, it was beautiful and awesome!
