ok post the genre of music you normally listen to, then post a genre that you like that no one would expect.

i usually listen to metal/metalcore, but i love Irish punk.

Folk/psychedelic.

Sufjan Stevens, Regina Spektor, The Flaming Lips are just three that come to mind.

Normally, I'm pretty rock oriented. I love hard punk(influenced) rock a la Showbread, mewithoutYou, Blindside, and stuff like that. I also like hardcore, the occasional burst of metal, and stuff like that.

Celtic drinking songs. There's Jakey's Gin, Home for a Rest, the Old Black Rum-

Which is odd since I tend to avoid bars and getting plastered

Smooth jazz.

Euro-pop That's right. Amidst my classical, metal, and techno....rubbing shoulders with Mozart and Bach.....you will find the likes of Aqua, Ace of Base, and Real McCoy.

Gospel Music.

I relly love praise and worship stuff..even though I really love CCM, Rock, Techno and Jpop

I like some pretty silly music, but I get the feeling it's expected of me.

Honestly, my selection of music is VERY various when it comes to genres... and with people knowing that I like some JPOP (it's just not the same as it used to, though v_v) I really don't think anything would be unexpected with me liking after that...

I usually listen to metal and metalcore as well, but I also kinda like old school punk (but that isnt really that suprising)

I like psychedelic/downtempo rock such as Discover America and Viva Voce....I usually listen to bands such as MxPx, Project 86, August Burns Red.

Most people who know me know I have a really ecclectic taste in music. But they may not realize it extends to polka. Gotta love that um-pa beat!

German rock for me! I'm part German, so I suppose one could say I'm learning more about my heritance. At least, that's just what I tell people when they walk in on me geeking out to Rammstein.

Noise.

I like rock and pop, but also listen to what my DJ friend calls "Chinese ghetto style", so I guess that's what it is.

Japanese, Korean, Chinese Rock/Pop/Rap........

I mostly listen to...Well, I dunno, I'm awful at labeling genres, but I guess it would be punk (some), rock, mellow-y stuff like Imogen Heap, DCFC, Fair, etc...I dunno what you'd call that. XD Anyways, anyone who doesn't know me well (as in, isn't a really close friend in real life) probably wouldn't know that I listen to J-pop/rock. 'Course, it seems I share that sentiment with a lot of people here. XD

One that kinda catches people off gaurd is that I like classical stuff like Mendal, Bach and all those composers.

most of the time it's metal [i.e- Zao, Living Sacrifice], but I also listen to celtic folk like Silly Wizard...

I mostly like rock, some punk and a very select bit of pop. I also like a bit of industrial punk and blues and jazz. But the real weird thing for me is I like a bit of classical music.

Living in such a Hip-hop saturated street culture in my area it surprises/confuses my friends to hear to find someone belching it out in Japanese in the middle of my playlist.

Big band, like Glenn Miller and Benny Goodman. Also Frank Sinatra and those old-time jazz type singers. My tastes in music run kind of weirdly anyway, so I doubt any one would be surprised that I liked a certain genre. Another one is disco and Elvis, but only when Im in the mood!

Mostly I like folk, celtic, and Asian folk/pop music, soundtracks, and a little bit of oldies/classic rock thrown in.

I used to listen primarly to soft rock/ american pop songs, but now I love chinese and taiwanese and japanese pop.

i guess what i talk about most is metal but i not only listen to every kind of metal and hardcore i listen to every kind of SKA punk folk ccm techno electronica rock celtic tribal other world classical choral indie/experimental industrial new age progressive blues swing hip hop even emo/scremo to a certain degree and anything i forgot i probably listen to it too
