Music to Listen to While Suffering Boredom

So I'm bored but...I just got this awesome remix of the Numa-Numa song. Someone on here must have heard the original...anyone heard the techno remix? It's amusing. But what's even better is the Legend of Zelda DDR mix. AWESOME. Yeah this is what I do when I'm bored. What do you listen to or do when you're bored?

I usually end up listening to pop punk when I'm bored, thus ruining my rep as a hardcore guy, so I usually avoid getting bored by finding something to clean. Incidentally, I also clean when I'm upset, but that's off the trail.

From the last look I had at your room, you haven't been upset in a while. ;)

As for myself, I usually leave my iTunes on shuffle, so that solves that problem.

Sometimes if I'm bored but also somewhat motivated, I'll write some music.

Classic Rock. Absolutely. I just love listening to all the crazy instrumentation and zoning out. Cream's 'White Room' is especially evil, it's been stuck in my head for a week now O_O

It REALLY depends on my mood... Kajiura Yuki and TWO-MIX can be quite satisfying... as for other stuff, I'll shuffle it^^ Lately I just haven't been in a musicy mood :/ My friend sent me a bunch of songs cause I told her I don't have any fresh/different tunes, but I keep forgetting to listen to them, nor have... really been in the mood too :/ Wish I was though v_v

I'm absolutely the same. It really depends on how I'm feeling at the time. Good celtic or piano medlies always seem to be awesome. I also love to put on WRBS and see if their playing anything or put on one of my Christian Music CDs.

I've discovered that listening to Brak sing the Magic Toenail Song can be very entertaining. The Metalhead song is also a favorite. I listen to very odd music sometimes...like Family Force Five. Completely random sometimes, but it's good music.

I listen to whatever's in my Windows Media library. But I've noticed that I can't listen to Dashboard Confessional for too long...It starts to feel like someone is trying to scrape my ears off. XD;

Hahahaha...I'm guessing you don't like Dashboard Confessional very much. I've discovered that listening to all three of my Relient K cds in a row can be fun; they are all very different. Word of advice: Geoff Moore hurts the ears REALLY bad.

I find it amusing that all of these artists are on DDR (possibly with the exception of Noria... I don't believe I've seen anything from them on DDR)

Speaking of DDR, Delerium is a great funky band. I have their Chimera cd and I listen to that when I'm bored...actually, I listen to that alot of the time.

The advantage with the Dance Dance Revolution and Beatmania Techno is that is doesn't drag on longer than their concepts for songs at about 2 minutes long and they do what they want to do quickly and in a timely fashion. The difficulty with a lot of techno is that the artists stick way too strictly to the 16 beat progressions and don't mix up things enough, resulting in music that is readily dancable, but not really satisfactory on it's own. Though then again this may stem from my bias torwards Industrial and EBM music, and a dislike for Cyberprep Candy Kid decadence. Still, artists like The Future Sound of London (who have really blown me away in almost every genre they have touched) and Juno Reactor have earned my respect for their well done Techno.

On the topic at hand, assuming one's goal is to have music that's fun to listen to, I would pick up something by the Christian Synthpop group Joy Electric like their Robot Rock or almost anything they produced after that. If anybody's interested, Joy Electric can be requested on the pretty responsive AI controlled Internet Radio station ChristianIndustrial.net at http://www.christianindustrial.net , and they're actually on Itunes too. For Video game fans, I'd go download some remixes of favorite game songs at http://www.ocremix.org/ (which stay within legal boundaries as a rule of submission of songs), and maybe pick up a disk from http://www.majesticmix.com/music.html (Tracks like the remixed Star Stealing Girl on Squaredance are really cool as Techno goes) while sending a word of encouragement to Stephen as these projects are his work for God's glory.

Usually any kind of rock, depending on my mood. If I'm at the comp, I'll listen to RadioU. Occasionally I'll throw in some rap or techno.

I just discoverd AOL Radio(I know, tis sad) and I like the Anime and VideoGameScores stations. They provide entertaining music, with little commercials, and I find new songs I've never heard before. There are some scary stations though....*shudders* I think I'll stick with the ones aforementioned.

AOL Radio? Try http://www.gamingfm.com/main/ instead - no commercials and other good things. Umm.... scary stations?

Yes, scary stations, like Gay Pride. I'm not sure who came up with that, but it disturbs me. I'll try out that other station sometime. Jpop has found a special place in my heart recently...it keeps me entertained, although some of the Jrock is annoying,

Even though homosexual sex is wrong, do you really think it's good to simply be in fearful disgust? This doesn't strike me as the most productive attitude we could take, and only elevates a polarized mutual hatred out of step with the mission of Christ.

I have to admit, it's been a while since I've heard any JPop except for DDR stuff though - I've had difficulty with the general perkiness (and without actual substance I suspect) of the genre being a goth and industrial music fan - i'm just way too mellow for being assulted with fast-paced musical sugarballs.

I didn't mean to offend. I was merely stating that I find it odd that there is a station out there like that. I probably shouldn't have been surprised, but I was. I apologize if I offended.

On a lighter note, Dragostea din Tei is definitely the best thing to listen to when bored.
