Embarassing thing that happened at a concert?

Okay, the show is The Kick, Mewithoutyou, Bradley Hathaway, and Blindside. Glass House of Pomona, September '04.

My girl friend (not girlfriend, just a friend who is female)--I shall henceforth refer to her as "My Delight"-- was pushed during one of Blindside's songs. Since I happened to be standing just behind her, naturally, I caught her. I held My Delight up for a few moments, making sure she had her footing back, leaning forward and asking if she was okay. Just then I hear my name being called. I turn; one of My Delight's friends is there, and she doesn't look happy. "What are you doing?" she demands. "What?" I say. "I'm just..." It is then that I realize that she just sees me with my arms around My Delight, leaning forward and whispering in her ear. Worse, I further realize just where my hands happen to be. :red: I throw My Delight off of me and back into the crowd. "It wasn't like that!" I yell. "She fell! She fell!" Fortunately, at this moment, My Delight falls again. I catch her again, though accidentally this time. (I'm VERY careful about the placement of my hands.) "You see! You see! I'm innocent!" I cry. "Oh," says the other girl. "I thought... well never mind."

Sigh. So, I can't be the only one with an awkward memory. What's happened to all you?

I ripped my pants at a music festival, and didn't realize it until I got back from it XD

Of course, I laugh about this NOW...>___>

I don't have any, but my friend spinkicked this rather large fellow who was standing on the outside of a circle pit. The kid was taken clean out. I helped the boy up, but on the inside, I was cheering for my friend. Well played, dear friend, wherever you are right now. Well played.

*Why well played? Because he hit that other kid and not me, and I was standing next to the kid. >_>

Animus, oh dear. Was your 'Delight' Turkish? (lol)

Kkun, was that attack provoked or your friend just felt like spinkicking someone?

It was a total accident. It was the first time he ever tried doing a spinkick in the pit, and he went flying and hit the kid. The kid was alright. We all had a laugh over it. It wasn't a fight or anything. They were hardcore dancing.

I wandered toward the front during an intermission, and when the music started back up I was in the middle of the mosh pit! I've never been caught in a whirlpool or rip tide but I imagine that clawing one's way out of a mosh pit is somewhat reminiscent of them.

If you did the robot and pulled it off well, people would be congratulating you in my scene. Then again, these are the same people that did the dance from Michael Jackson's Thriller in unison when The Acacia Strain came to town.

Wow, thats almost as strange as seeing the same kids who laughed at me do the Russian hat dance at a 4th Avenue Jones show.

Speaking of stranger tribal dances, I've been learning how to skank and I think I can pull it off next time Turn Your Head And Cough (local band) play again. Woot.

Actually, generally speaking, at most of the shows I've been to the front is one of the safest places to be, as the pit's behind you. It helps if you have a big friend standing behind you, though. Of course, if the band is big enough, sometime's there's no escaping the pit at all.

Oh, and Warrior 4 Jesus, My Delight is Mexican-American as well, by the way. :)
