Anyone here going? Anyone here not know what it is? (visit http://www.cornerstonefestival.com) If you don't know, it's basically a Christian music festival in Illinois...July 5th-8th. I went there for 1 day last year but one day is NOT enough...we'll be camping out there this year the whole time! It's so awesome! ^_^

I just went to Cornerstone Florida 2006 for the third year in a row and it was amazing as always. I'm gonna try and get to the one in Illinois next year. I'd love to see a bunch of bands that don't hit C-stone FL because EVERYONE goes to the big C-stone.

I'd love to go whenever P.O.D. and blindside play, but Bushnell is too far away from here.

I wish I could go and hang out in The Asylum and also listen to stuff like Audio Paradox, I-Dragon-I, and Leper. If you're going, you may want to check some of these out too.

Yea, I'm gonna be camping there. I plan on seeing the big bands like Relient K and MXPX and stuff, but the rest I think I'll end up wandering aimlessly around trying to find cool stuff. I might try going to some of the seminar things too.

Hehe, although we've already spoken of this I knew you would like these two, gothic rock and industrial music are sweet genres.

Audio Paradox these days make the best use of the electric guitar within the Industrial genre I know of without being more like heavy metal music and can be heard at http://www.myspace.com/audioparadox
Leper meanwhile, has produced gothic rock and heavy metal music which to listen to their myspace at http://www.myspace.com/lepergoth have been taking more a more industrial direction too.

Seminars:
Nietszche for Christians (forgive me for being unable to spell his name...)
Freud for Christians
and...the stuff on Kierkegaard, though we were only able to make it to 2 of the 7 seminars :X
Interesting in that these first two were some of the harshest critics of Christianity while Kierkegaard responded to a culture that knew the creeds and didn't let them affect their lives by abandoning all tradition in a rather crazy sort of Christianity. Still, I can imagine certain aspects of their philosophies that would be very useful to the Christian if he thought about them.

Your list makes me smile. Especially that part about mewithoutYou. More people around here need to understand how truly amazing they are.

hehe indeed! Those bands are awesome (already added Audio Paradox on MySpace....should probably do that with Leper, Devil Wears Prada, and ... many more bands on that list of mine, as well)

As for the seminars, the ones with Nie...something (can't spell his freakin name...) and Freud involved discussing their ideas and actually how it related to the old testament prophets and even Jesus' critique of people carrying out their religion without putting God first, or even following God. It also involved the whole verse (which one? I think it's in Isaiah) saying that all of our deeds and sacrifices are like a filthy cloth before the Lord because of where our hearts lie. Anyways, twas interesting....

And yes, mewithoutyou is a very very awesome band. ^_^ If any of you want to see my pictures/videos, here's a site to do so! Just go to Summers and then Cornerstone 06! http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v312/Penciled_In/
