Does anyone else here listen to primarily bubblegum pop/dance music?

It seems most folks here at CAA prefer alternative, punk, metal, hard-core rock, etc.

I fear I would hardly fit your criteria. My favorite music is classical followed closely by metal and trance tied for second.

However :) I do like some good europop from time to time. I admit it unashamedly. There is indeed an Aqua cd in my collection and I do listen to it. It's just so catchy, you know. lol. And I also listen to HINOI Team, which is a Japanese euro-pop group.

I've never been exactly sure what "bubblegum" meant, but I listen to Asian pop from all countries. Dance music is cool too, I've heard some good songs, but I have to do some more research to find some good artists. I did love my Nsync and Backstreet Boys back in the day. Actually I got disinterested in popular music when they stopped playing that stuff.

"Bubblegum pop" electronic music very rarely, its just doesn't have quite the quality of production you see in the Darkwave, Industrial, EBM, Synthpop, and Futurepop (See Tormented Radio at http://www.tormentedradio.com and Digital Gunfire at http://www.digitalgunfire.com/) and genres that fuse in World music influence with electronica like Goa Trance (See World Fusion Radio at http://worldfusionradio.com/ and the Goa Trance station at http://www.di.fm ). Who needs compromising bubblegum dance music when you're packing ThouShaltNot, Stromkern, Juno Reactor, The Future Sound of London, Front Line Assembly, Adom9, Collide, Covenant, The Last Dance, the Cruxshadows, Regenerator, Qntl, Lights of Euphoria, Echoing Green, Clan of Xymox, and groups like that? My groups so school bubblegum pop its like Willy Wonka showed up. By all means please try to make a habit of listening to at least one of these stations consistently.

Bubblegum pop is pretty much what its name implies, that it's throwaway. Sure it's catchy but it gets old fast and loses its flavor. Like GhostontheNet said Juno Reactor, Covenant, Regenerator etc. along with a favorite of mine Amon Tobin are all really good electronica groups.

J-pop is a rather new to me, but for some reason I like it. I don’t pay attention to American pop music, I just find the Japanese music aesthetically pleasing. I’m strange in the fact I don’t stick to a genre, I skip around. Just no disco.

*Listens to Itunes samples - is impressed by the quality of the FutureJazz.

Yeah, when they played black metal there were guys in the band, but then they started leaving and being replaced by girls, until it became an all-girl band, and now they play pop music.

I think I should note here that I've launched a thread at http://www.christiananime.com/showthread.php?t=35995 for more in-depth discussion of all forms of electronic music, alongside excellent albums in the various genres.
