Audio A throws in the towel

Postby Hitokiri » Thu Jan 19, 2006 2:16 pm

Yep, Audio A is releasing their last album "Adios" and leaving the Chrisitan music scene. They were phenominal and even though my musical tastes has long changed from their style, I still enjoy songs like "Big House", "Some Kind of Zombie" and "Get Down'.

audioa.com wrote:After Three Million Albums Sold, 18 No. 1 Radio Hits, GRAMMY/Dove Trophies, 15-Years of Sold Out Concerts, AudioA Prepares 2006 Farewell Album, Live Events

Nashville, Tenn., (January 18, 2006) – One of the industries top bands, Audio Adrenaline announces that it will add a final chapter to its substantial career with Adios, slated to release later this year. After 15-years of music and mission, Audio Adrenaline is choosing to say "adios," offering one more nod to its considerable fan base with the album and select live events.

After years of giving his all on stage and in the studio, Audio Adrenaline frontman Mark Stuart is experiencing ongoing vocal challenges. After consulting with doctors, it is clear the toll his voice has taken will prevent his ability to continue a consistent live performance schedule.

"Fifteen years of rock 'n' roll takes a toll on the vocal chords, but I wouldn't trade a day of it for anything," says Stuart. "Touring and making records with Will, Ben and Tyler has truly been a gift from God, as well as worshiping night after night with the greatest fans on the planet."

"As one of the most successful and longest running bands in Christian music, Audio Adrenaline has made tremendous impact in the lives of their loyal listeners," says Peter York, EMI CMG Label Group president. "They have also been a strong influence and positive role model for many of today's emerging bands. It has been EMI CMG's privilege to partner with Audio Adrenaline and to support their music and ministry throughout their entire career."

With plans for Adios in its initial stages, fans can anticipate a commemorative look at the expansive career of Audio Adrenaline through the band's greatest hits along with two newly recorded songs. A special edition Adios package is slated to include a DVD containing all Audio Adrenaline videos, live performance footage and new band interviews. This package will also feature interviews from artists impacted by Audio Adrenaline, including tobyMac and Steven Curtis Chapman, as well as members of MercyMe, Pillar, Relient K and Newsboys, each talking about their shared tour experiences and favorite memories of Audio Adrenaline.

"The plans emerging for Adios promise to deliver a fun and poignant experience in which Audio Adrenaline fans can participate," says York. "The legacy of Audio Adrenaline is one that will continue to make impact for many years to come."

They had some good stuff. I remember going to a Youth Alive Concert some years ago and they were playing. It was awesome! And very loud. Aren't they from Australia (Queensland) originally?)

One of my first bands back in the day, along with Newsboys, DC Talk, & the Supertones. Ahhh, good times.

Some Kind of Zombie was my first exposure to bands outside of Carman. Much owed, and the two albums I've bought isn't support enough for a band that stayed true to their roots. Even though I'm a metalhead, I have respect for Audio A.

I`m a metal/rap lover as well (even though rap wasn`t mentioned)
but Audio A is a classic Christian band.

What about "Hands & Feet?" How could you forget that?

I guess it`s the same case with Newsboys, DC Talk, and Five Iron Frenzy:

We should get over it.

(I know Newsboys still makes CDs but their current material just isn`t "Newsboys").

*Hats off to AA*

Can you please not spill your negativity into every Christian music thread? This is the second time you have posted a comment that adds nothing to the thread, except to slam a band or just spew negativity. If you hate a band, good for you. But try not to run around being "that guy" on music threads.

Their not selling out. The lead singer just can't sing anymore.

I almost had a chance to see Audio A in concert last October when they were in the middle of the Until My Heart Caves In tour with Pillar (the reason I wanted to go, sorry), Superchick, Kids in the Way, and Sanctus Real. I don't mean any disrespect by this, but couldn't they just find a new lead singer?
Simple arithmetic:
FF7 + World War II games = overrated
freedom + things we're lucky to have = taken for granted
manga + anime = a very happy person
Salvation + Jesus' Sacrifice = Eternal Life
a village - its idiot = a lot of smart people

"I had the right to remain silent...I just didn't have the ability." - Ron White

"Your trademark is stupidity!" - Mr. T

"Your eyes can deceive you, don't trust them." - Obi Wan Kenobi

"If you can't be good, be good at it." - my uncle

Shout-outs:
SaintKevin, Yahshua, and Lunis, you guys rock!; Pillar, Kutless, 12 Stones, Skillet, and Falling Up for rocking hard, and Jesus Christ for being my Rock!

I heard them in the same concert, and while I loved the band back in the day, the lead singer's voice is pretty well shot. They have been around [i]forever[/], and I think it's ok for bands to go away after a while. They haven't been putting out big hits recently, and they are all getting older. Maybe they just want to settle down and live normal lives now. Honestly, I can't say I will miss them because while I liked them back in the day, I have moved on, and so have they.

I love Audio A and all I can say is that I still have their CDs and they should have lives too! Maybe this throat problem will start a new stage in their lives that we may never hear about but will glorify god even more!

I remember seeing them in concert when I was in high school. That tells you how long they've been around. I graduated HS in 1991. They weren't called Audio Adrenaline back then, though.

They have indeed been around a very, very long time. Being in a band is hard work and they probably all have things they want to do other than play music.

I was never a huge fan of theirs, but I really liked their Some Kind of Zombie album. That was good stuff.

You're kidding!! Well, obviously not, but come on. This is sad news. I don't really listen to them much (my taste of rock has become much more chaotic as of late), but that's the stuff I grew up on when I was in middle school. I'm just glad I got to see them before this...

Some Kind of Zombie is still my favorite Audio A song.
