I had a hard time with the topic title but basically what I am trying to say.

What musician who does music for anime do you love and whoose work you have followed, even if it's not affiliated with anime or other series you havn't even seen or heard of?

Two musician have come to mind. Maaya Sakamoto and Akino Arai. "Hemisphere" on the RahXephon soundtrack as the starting theme got me stuck on her music. I listen to her on Wolf's Rain, Tsubasa Chronicle, Angel Sanctuary, etc. Her voice is just beutiful and have moved to her own albums and such.

I was hooked onto Akino Arai by the two ending theme songs on Outlaw Star "Hiru no Tsuki" "Tsuki no Ie". I havn't gotten into her as much as Maaya but I intend to later on.

Do As Infinity (got into, courtesy of Inuyasha)

FictionJunctionYUUKA (got into, courtesy of Gundam SEED)

BoA (again, courtesy of Inuyasha)

I especially like FictionJunctionYUUKA, because of their use of violins and electronic instruments. :thumb:

Yoko Kanno (Cowboy Bebop, Wolf's Rain, Record of Lodoss War, Ghost in the Shell: Stand-Alone Complex)
T.M. Revolution (Gundam SeeD, Rurouni Kenshin)
I'm a BoA fan too. They did that great opening theme for Serial Experiments Lain, "Duvet" *starts singing the song to self*.
See Saw (.hack//sign, Gundam SeeD.) If I'm not mistaken they did the closing theme to .hack//Legend of the Twilight Bracelet, too.
