Misleading CD Covers!

Has anyone looked at a CD from the cover and avoided it based off of it? Has anyone listened to the music that has a CD cover that you would normally avoid? Has anyone liked the music that has a misleading CD cover?

Any other comments about this topic is yay. :D

Mm....I've done the second thing. I bought a CD by the Gorillaz because the anime-like cover art looked cool......not so good.
Oh and obviously I have avoided secular bands with...females on the cover. *twitch*

Oh I didn't mean that. I'm just talking about bands that display women on their covers in a sexual way. Not many, but I just mean that I avoid those bands for obvious reasons. <.<;

The cover of Seal's second eponymous album has a picture of him nude (albeit strategically covering himself up with his legs). However, the songs themselves are not exactly sexual.

I have avoided a lot of CDs because of a certain label on them. If a CD looks really evil then I probably will be much more wary of the cd because of it. If there is something sexual on the cd then I probably wont buy it or borrow it or whatever.

I avoid buying "stamped" CDs that are blue-green (or similar) on the bottom. Mostly because they're likely to actually be CDRs. Does that count?

The Red Hot Chili Peppers "By the Way" album cover is rather . . . . . . risque, but that's my favorite RHCP album ever.

Yah, one of the chili peppers cd covers has some near frontal nudity.

I think your thinking of "Mother's Milk" which is a pretty raunchy album in and of itself. "By the Way" actually does have a picture of a nude girl on the front, but it's very wierdly drawn and you only see breast nudity.

I usually buy looking for albums by people I know, though I remember way back before they were popular I saw a Metallica album cover with a demon on the record (like I said it was before they were popular) and thought it was a satanic band. Was a few years later my friend told me they weren't (this was back when Master of Puppets came out when I started listening to them)

I have the reverse experience typicaly. I can buy a cd because it has an intresting cover, and be plesantly surprised by the music... But there have defantly been let downs. I generaly buy based on wanting it before hand/having it recomended to me, but not all the time.

There are large black Parental Warnings on the more "risque" CD's guys.:eyeroll: As far as lyrical content goes anyway.

I've seen CD covers that are plenty weird to me without the parental seal; if there was one, I'd just avoid it altogether.
