NIRRIEL:

A song i wrote for one of my good friends before she left senior year from my highschool. ForLauren:

this third one, my music teacher could not write down rhythmically, because i had an offbeat in it! i didn't even know that when i wrote it, lol. LOST & FOund shows the life before christ, how crazy it is, and then the joy that he brings. LOST&FOUND:

This last one, i wrote with a fictional country that i was creating for one of my stories. THis was an experiment of creating an image with only music.

I used cakewalk... uhh... 2003 edition... not as good as my music tech dept's cakewalk homestudio 2004. ahh. i wish i had 2004! lol. I used my trusty keyboard with midi cables, and then i tweaked the audio with an audio reverb prog!

i have some mistakes in there... im still learning to become a better composer! ^^

^_^ Take some friendly advice from a fellow composer -- it's not how fancy that the program you use is, but rather how you use it. You'll get better as you go with enough practice, regardless of what program you use. :) And I can already tell that you've got some good composing potential in your stuff -- the instrumentation is great! :thumb:

Incidentally, I use Cakewalk Home Studio 8 to create my initial MIDI files, and give them the finishing touches in WinJammer Shareware. No MIDI keyboard necessary for me; I just plunk all the notes on the staff one at a time using the mouse (with the occasional copy and paste, of course). Then, if I'm converting it to an MP3 file, I'll use GoldWave to do that as well as polish it up. My software synthesizer of choice is the standard Roland GS set that's used in the default MS Synth used by WDM sound drivers for Windows 98 and later (if that makes sense). ^_^

If you like, give some of the music on the Melodies of Heaven page of my site, The BASIC FAQs (link also in my signature) a listen. :)

IN SHIPS:

This one has words! and i sing in it! srry bout the metallic-al sound! T.T. I need a better mic.

In Ships

In ships we sail―
O’er the sea―
To take us home to loved ones
Beyond the cresting waves.

The stars are bright―
Our guiding lights―
They guide our path so clearly.
Heaven lights our way.

But how far is the journey?
How long must we yearn?

How long ‘til we reach the world’s end?

Dear, God―
May our ships be in your hands
Please, lord,
Carry us to our homeland.

Nice. Maybe you should try using more than one instrument next time. Can you do that on your program? BTW, I use Cakewalk too! Good stuff.

Please Listen @ http://media.putfile.com/Keep-the-Dream and then tell me what you think!

I finally have the best recording that I think I have ever done! Here at college we have a study room that also works really well as a music studio!!! I've been writing up a storm of music in the past few days. Please listen, hehe.

http://media.putfile.com/Masquerade-Ball-

Here are the lyrics:

We are all walking
With our faces down
Not wanting others to see us
for who we are
We are hiding behind masks
Behind our menial tasks
Pretending that nothing can
Hurt or kill us

Masquerade Ball
When you look at
Your face in the mirror
To see
What you wanted there to be

Masquerade Ball
We are all
Dancing ‘round
With masked smiles
On our faces
In various places

We feel safe when in crowds
Where everyone talks loud
Where we can keep to ourselves
And protect our secrets
We are afraid of being broken
Our hearts are bloodsoaken
From being shattered so many times

Masquerade
It’s your parade
But this façade has gone on
Too long.

It’s time that pain
Had some rain
To wash away
the tears that never
reached the day

(Take off you mask
and face the day)
