CAA: Christian Anime Alliance

Okay, the new Becoming the Archetype album is incredible. Wow. Just wow. Last year, for me, the Christian metal album of the year was The Showdown's "A Chorus of Obliteration". This year, I think it's going to be "Terminate Damnation" by Becoming the Archetype. This is some good, good stuff. I love this CD. Wow. Just. Wow. If you want it, for the next week, it'll be $9.99 at Best Buy.

This could be the Christian metal CD of 2005. Seriously. Anyone else get it? If Mr. Hitokiri is not in here raving about this CD today, I will be disappointed.

I will nominate this c.d. for the best album of the year award and if someone objects, I will take a polo stick and wape them across the head cause they're crazy.

I was listening to this gem of a c.d. in the car and I was going crazy WITHOUT crashing. Meaning I was half-way headbanging, hitting the steering wheel with my hands, and lyp-screaming to the music. All the while people were staring at me as I drove through campus or on the expressway.

How can something some brutal, so crazy, so insane sound so so so....sweet to my ears? This album is... almost god-like in a non-pagan or blapshemos way. I am so glad I decided to buy this c.d. and forgo money for lunch at school.

There he is! I knew you'd be all over this one. I feel stupid for judging them just because Ryan Clark from Demon Hunter (a band that I thoroughly do not like >_>) was promoting them. e.e This CD is just fantastic. The musicianship is amazing, the vocals are incredible...this CD is fantastic.

Also, did you hear the, what I think, anyway, guest vocalists on it? I can't remember the songs in particular, but being from Atlanta, GA, I seriously think I heard Scogin from The Chariot/formerly of Norma Jean, and also, there was a scream that was strangely reminiscent to Bruce Fitzhugh of Living Sacrifice. Man, just...seriously. This CD is wow.

No I did not notice that cause I am wrapped up in the awesomeness of the c.d. h brutal vocals, the ear destroying guitars, the piano work and goth keyboard....::drools::

The musicianship of the CD is amazing, I agree. Some of the breakdowns in this album are just brilliant. This CD is basically a Christian Opeth knockoff that's more hardcore, but wow, do they do it well.

Yes which reminds me Opeth's new c.d. came out as well. BTA was a tad mor eimportant though

Someone have a song one could sample to know if there any good? And btw, you cannot say CD of the year till you partake of Colds new CD A Different Kind Of Pain.

Interesting. Not really my thing...but interesting. I would call this...Goth metal. I love everything but the vocals really. But to each there own. ^^

Yeah. Personally, as much as I like screaming, I'd love to hear heavy metal of this calibre with clean singing vocals. Maybe that's why I'm so excited about the new Coheed and Cambria album.

I agree with Shatterheart...The music was awesome, but I prefer more melody in my vocals.
And it was so good too!

Wow. If this had some awesome melodic vocals going on this would be absolutely incredible. The music is really good. At least the screaming isn't of the extremely nerve-grating, brain-scraping kind. It's a lot more listenable for me than most other metal/hardcore stuff.

I do prefer alot of melodic stuff but BTA completely wastes anything melodic band wise with how brutal and crazy is.

They do have a great sound, kind of reminds me of Showdown and Trivium. That's not necessarily a bad thing, though. There are some amazing songs by Showdown and Trivium. I really like that there seems to be an influx of bands with similar sound, which I am totally in to.

Plus they're from GEORGIA! Go Georgia! Most of our bands blow, so now we have Showbread and Becoming the Archetype to be proud of!

But, I must say that this is NOT goth metal. The best example I can give for goth metal is Deadsy, which is probably a band not too many people have heard of.

A Goth Metal band would proably be Nightwish, Virgin Black, Saviour Machine, etc.

BTA does have some goth themes but it's more grindcore/hardcore with death and thrash influences as well as possibly Nordic Black Metal. Alot fo the songs have so many different genres thrown in. For instance, one song (forget which one) has a bit of Death, Trash, Chaos-core, Speed, Black, and Hardcore thrown into one massive blitz of pure straight metal. It even follows in the path of The Showdown with a blue grass piece thrown in amongst the clamour of instruments.

I highly suggets listening to "Elegy", "The Trivial Paroxysm", and "Night's Sorrow" for a good taste of what BTA is like and how diverse they can be.

I listened to Elegy and whoa, I actually liked it.
I might buy this with my birthday money....

Havent got the Cd yet( ) and probaly won't for a while but BTA freaking rule. I have Elegy and The Epigone on my computer and they rock so hard; oh the Metalness!

And on the vocals id have to say they are the best Metal vocals ive ever heard. He simply lays to waste any others;the deepest vocal performance i know of. (There are other good vocals but his are very uniqe which is good.)

Wisdom's deep vocals do rock...but I still prefer Mikael's (Opeth) deep vocals over all. I love this c.d. everytime I listen to it.

It sounds like one I'll have to check out and most likely buy.

i just got their CD...the music is great but their singing leaves a lot to be desired...i like metal but i get tired of the same screaming over and over...over all the CD is still pretty good...
