Anyone here a fan of Christian hardcore music? If so, what bands do you like? A few of my favorites are East West, Blindside, P.O.D., Haste the Day, Living Sacrifice, Dead Poetic, UnderOath, and Staple.

I enjoy some. My favourite is P.O.D and I've heard some Living Sacrifice stuff I enjoyed. Same goes for Demon Hunter and Blindside. I like some of thier stuff.
And I'm a hardcore Christian to boot. (lol)

Awesome.
I haven't heard as much hardcore as I would have liked. We don't always have such a range here in NZ (especially in the music stores where I live) but I do like a lot of POD's songs, 12 Stones (do they count?) and Dead Poetic. I like softer music, too (Switchfoot!) but sometimes there isn't much to beat such - is 'raw' a decent word? - sound.

Well, first, welcome to CAA. Hope you enjoy your stay...and have a nice day.
...
Yeah, I dig all kinds of music but there's always a special place in my heart for hardcore. I wouldn't call Blindside, P.O.D., or EastWest hardcore but I do love me some Blindside. They're one of my favorite bands. I also love Haste the Day, Living Sacrifice, Dead Poetic, and Underoath. They all rock my face off.
Have you heard Symphony In Peril, As Cities Burn, Norma Jean, or The Chariot? Those are some of my favorites. Also, my absolute favorite (as in, I like them more than everything mentioned here except Blindside) "hardcore" band would have to be Showbread. If you haven't heard them, give them a shot for something very, very different. They're so good.

Demon Hunter, Still Remains, Staple, Haste The Day, Underoath and of course Killswitch Engage! Those are probably my favorite hardcore christian bands out now.

Feh, I'd consider Underoath hardcore. It's just that too many tween girls have found them to be cute and ruined them for us.
But that's beside the point. East West, Demon Hunter, Zao, some of Norma Jean's stuff, ya know...the usual.

I liked East West until they released their last album...
ugh..I fall asleep listening to it.

Overall, I'm not a music fan in the first place. However, when I do listen to music I tend to enjoy things further on the hardcore side (though incredible talent in most genres will at least interest me somewhat). Given my relative apathy, however, I haven't sought out enough music to have favorite bands.

I think I would qualify at the other end of the spectrum. I'm down right obsessed.
I listen all day at work to radiou. I listen on the way to work (45 min drive) I listen on the way home...and will listen at home.

Well, about Underoath...it's more that they USED to be hardcore, now they definitely have a more hard rock edge. Their old stuff was definitely hardcore but that doesn't mean their new CD is bad or anything. On the contrary, I like it a lot so...but no, I wouldn't call their new stuff hardcore.

JxCxHxCx!!!!! I like old school HxC better than most of the newer, metal tinged stuff. Born Blind, Figure Four, NIV. UnderOath, FewLeftStanding and the like are good too. Just a matter of preference.
Godcore.com, Facedown Records are good sources, and if you tool around soundclick and purevolume, you'll find several Chrisitan hardcore bands as well.

From what I have heard on the rumor vine, UnderOATH's new music is much more heavier and darker, drawing from the likeness of Act of Depression and Cries of the Past. I am thoroughly exicted (being a fan of both albums).
I wouldn't consider Demon Hunter hardcore at all...they are closer to nu-metal then anything. Dead Poetic, to me, is just rock with a bit of emo/screamo influence. Killswitch Engage is more metalcore with Howard Jones fronting it. However, when Jesse Leach was doing the vocals for KSE, it was mostly hardcore with a bit of Southern Rock/Metal (which I prefer over Howard Jones). Haste the Day is defiently metalcore.
So anyways...
Some hardcore bands I like: Norma Jean (though I consider them mostly metalcore if anything), Blindside, East-West, Figure Four, and Between The Buried and Me.

Eh, if you want to go into technicals, y'all are probably right about a lot of those genre things. Perhaps I should have called them hardrock not hardcore. Oh well.
Blindside is on Purevolume now! ^_^

I am a very big hardcore fan myself. I started listening to Living Sacrifice and built my way up to bands like Between the Buried and Me, pretty much everything on solid state, Every Time I Die, Converge, The Bled, As I Lay Dying, and a bunch of others that would take awhile to list. I also listen to grindcore and emo/screamo stuff like Daughters, The Locust, Circa Survive, Saosin, and tons of other similar bands. So I guess you could say I am a huge hardcore fan.

I've just been getting back into the Christian hardcore scene lately. My CD case is now fulla this stuff.
Underoath - They're Only Chasing Safety
Zao - The Funeral of God; Legendary
Project 86 - Drawing Black Lines; Truthless Heroes; Songs to Burn Your Bridges By
As Cities Burn - Son, I Loved You At Your Darkest (new hotness!)
Furnace Fest 2001 Sampler (still one of my favorite CDs ever)
Norma Jean - O' God, the Aftermath
I also have "This is Solid State - The DVD". "Freakin' awesome" is the only way I can describe it.

Black metal, there's a whole nother can of worms (or at least another thread) Christian black metal bands seem to disappear rather quickly, leaving long trails of broken links and disappointed fans.
I love everything I have found from As I Lay Dying so far. Demon Hunter rocks, but are definatly numetal.

Such is the case and good secular black metal bands that aren't quote on quote satanic are hard to come by.

I love hardcore/screamo/numetal/metalcore and all those different names for the stinkin hard stuff. Some ones that I really like are; Norma Jean, Demon Hunter, Zao, Staple, Dead Poetic, Beloved (us)...And quite few other such as Living Sacrifice, He Is Legend, and others...
