Does anyone else like Sufjan Stevens? Sunako sent me one of his songs a while back, and I didn't pay it as much attention as I should have. Sufjan Stevens is a very, very talented folk/pop singer/songwriter. His lyrics are superbly crafted and his musical composition is simply brilliant. He's currently undertaking an interesting task, where he researches and spends time in each state in the U.S. and then writes a song about it. So far, he's done several stand alone albums and two for his Fifty States project (the currently released "Sufjan Stevens Presents Welcome To Michigan" and the due out 7/5 "Sufjan Stevens Invites You To Feel the Illinoise").

I'm highly anticipating Feel the Illinoise. I think that CD is going to be wonderful. If you want to check out the song "Chicago" from that album, go to http://www.myspace.com/sufjanstevens. I'm very excited to hear the rest of this album.

I going to make a thread about him since I just got the cd and wanted to sing his praises but since KKun has beat me to it, BUY THIS CD.

Trust me, once you play Casimir Pulaski Day while walking down a bright city street you know that this is a very speacial cd.

Yeah, Illinois is fantastic, though I think I might like Greetings From Michigan just a bit more. Either way, Sufjan is amazing.
