Angel Shall Introduce the World to Japanese Music!!

One seventh grade Social Studies class at a time! XDD

"Um, I've got these CDs, um, Japanese rock CDs."
"Really? Well, bring them in, I'm sure we'd love to hear them!"
"Um, I've got one of the booklets...uh...here."
"You realize they won't be able to read that, right?"
"Um, I can't either, really."

Which is partially a lie, because I can read katakana and some to most hirigana, but I digress. Anyway, we're on our "Asia" unit in Social Studies, and thanks to the above conversation, it appears I have the job of bringing in some music. The thing is, I want to get a good sampling in a short period of time. And we're talking a seventh grade class after lunch and right before dismissal, so I need something...accessable, if you know what I mean. There's a fair chance that if I bring in something Adult Swim-related, they'll recognize it.
I have the first soundtrack to FLCL, the album "GOOD DREAMS" by The Pillows, and the OST to Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex. I think what I'm gonna do is pick five songs from my CDs and my mp3 collection to burn and bring in, along with the cases to the CDs I actually have.
So what I'm really trying to say is, suggestions? I want the famous stuff, like "The Real Folk Blues" and "Ready Steady GO". Help me out here, guys! ^^;;
(BTW, I'm very shy IRL, as you might be able to tell from the excessive "um"ing in the conversation, so pick something that won't take too much explaination, please. Oh, and my Social Studies teacher adknowledges the existance of anime, so I don't have to explain that.)
Think happy thoughts.

Ready Steady Go and Real Folk Blues sound like good choices to me :] hmm what else...maybe some Asian Kung Fu Generation or something like that. I'd say Gackt, but I wouldn't really call his music "accessible". ^_^; perhaps some Utada Hikaru would be good too...like that song from uh...I think it's Kingdom Hearts.

What about "Heart of Sword"? (TM Revolution/Rurouni Kenshin)

People who write below their abilities in order to crank out tons of books and make a buck. Especially Christian authors who do that. Outsiders judge us for it, and make fun of us for it, and it makes Jesus look bad. We of all artists on earth should be the most concerned with doing our best possible work at all times. We of all people should write with all our hearts, as if writing for the Lord and not for men.

Perhaps. I think most of them will have heard that, though. I really have no idea what I'm doing here. ^^;;;

I thought about that, but I dunno. Maybe. I might go with "Freckles".

I've got "Dearest" and "I Am" hanging around in the way of InuYasha music. The people at my school are InuYasha nuts so I'll probably throw "Dearest" in.

So far:
"The Real Folk Blues"

NO! Tm Revolution's HOT LIMIT when reading the "We Drink Ritalin" alternate lyrics....so....funny....O_O

Psycho le Cemu is great... and...

Orange Range is beyond awesomesauce.

Two Mix is really great, as well.

"Hot Limit"...sounds familiar. I think I saw a Trigun doujinshi titled "Hot Limit" once. But that's beside the point. The only group I've ever heard out of those, Impact, is Psycho le Cemu, who are indeed great. They're AWESOME. EDIT: D'oy. And TM Revolution, of course.

So far:
"The Real Folk Blues" by Yoko Kanno/Mai Yamane, featured in Cowboy Bebop
"Hybrid Rainbow" by The Pillows, featured in FLCL

Everyone was talking so loud (we were working on something) you could barely hear it. -_-;; But the teacher asked me to bring the CDs back Monday, so we'll get another chance. I think she realized you can't have the class talking and listening at the same time.
Think happy thoughts.
