I just got a cd set on ebay. Metal Gear soundtracks. I am trying to figure out if they are legit or not....2 are K-O Trading Company. Mg 1 and Mg 2 soundstracks. The MG2 extra is on Smile Face International Records.

The quality and package are great. Much better then other bootleg stuff I have seen in the past. Windows Media Player also was able to get all sorts of stuff on the cds...typicaly burned or bootleg cds don't show anything. So whats the deal, are MG1 and MG2s soundtracks legit and the extra cd a bootlegg. Or are they all real? Another thing...the lettering on everywhere but the front is in Japanese. Yet on the front, its English.

Edit: Wiggy, it seems 2 out of 3 are legit...not sure about the original MG soundtrack. But according to http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/detailview.html?KEY=KMCA-144

and http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/detailview.html?KEY=KMCA-127

Both the MG2 ones are in fact legit....

That was there MG1 soundtrack. My cover is a bit different...theres is white while mine features Liquid and Solid Snakes face pained in grey.

I think all of them are suspect. From what I can tell, all of the soundtracks are legitimately released by King Records and should also bear the Konami logo in the upper left hand corner of the CD case. From the pictures on eBay, it looks like the Konami logo is missing, but it's hard to tell. (Of course, there could be more than one legit release, but I would think all of them should have been released by King.)
