Jealous Kind

Artist: Jars Of Clay
Album: Who We Are Instead
Song: Jealous Kind
I built another temple to a stranger
I gave away my heart to the rushing wind
I set my course to run right into danger
I sought the company of fools instead of friends
Chorus:
You know I've been unfaithful
With lovers in lines
While You're turning over tables
With the rage of a jealous kind
I chose the gallows to the aisle
Thought that love would never find
Hanging ropes will never keep you
And your love of a jealous kind
Love of a jealous kind
Tryin' to jump away from rock that keeps on spreading
Solace in the shift of the sinking sand
I'd rather feel the pain all too familiar
Than be broken by a lover I don't understand
'Cause I don't understand
[CHORUS]
Love of a jealous kind, yeah
Love of a jealous kind
Love of a jealous kind
One hundred other lovers, more, one hundred other altars
If I should slow my pace and finally subject me to grace
And love that shames the wise
Betrays the hearts deceit and lies
And breaks the back of foolish pride
[CHORUS]
Love of a jealous kind
Love of a jealous kind
Love of a jealous kind
Jealous Kind is an awsome song. The words alone are powerful. When backed up my the music- and real music, not the cheap stuff made in the synth.- it's even more so. The piano, beautifuly and the gospel chorus...
I haven't heard many songs mentioning our jealous God... And the turnnig over tables... the story when Jesus turned over the tables in the church when they had made it into a market.
The last verse is the best. "Love that shames the wise" makes me think of when Jesus wouldn't sit with the pharasies. Many people say to fallow our heart, when all we have are it's deciet and lies- Adam fallowed his heart and look where it broguht humanity... and men like Stalin or Hitler. I love how it speaks against arrogance and how foolish it really is when we take pride in what we do, instead of giving God all the credit.
God is a jealous God, and has every right (duh). When people have many, have accomplished something great... what right do we have to be jealous of them? Who was the reason behind their success? Not themselves.
God Created the world and everythign thereof. What have we ever done?
Now why did I write this? Now that I think aobut it I really don't know. I just felt I had to share this.
Edit: Perhaps I should include "What do you guys think of the song?" so what do you guys think of the song?
