Depeche Mode-Playing The Angel

Wahoo! A brand-spakin' new Depeche Mode album is out.

So far I've only heard the (awesome) single, "Precious".

Any thoughts?

I haven't heard much of their stuff since Violator.

Does it resemble any of their previous albums?
"you're a doctor.... and 27 years.... so...doctor + 27 years = HATORI SOHMA" - RoyalWing, when I was 27
"Al hail the forum editting Shooby! His vibes are law!" - Osaka-chan

I could still be champ, but I'd feel bad taking it away from one of the younger guys. - George Foreman

Hard to say having only heard one song. I can give the song to you if you IM me, but really...hm.

Amazon's reveiw says it's more of a return to their older, darker stuff. Apparently it has one or two blah tracks, but is overall supposed to be really great, especially for the die-hard Depeche fans... and I'm in a bit of a Depeche mode myself. : 3

Precious is the only track that resebles the old Violator-era Depeche Mode. The rest of the stuff is quite different. I wouldn't say that this is my favourite album, but it's far better than their previous Exciter.
