my comes between 4 so:

Queens of the Stone Age
System of a Down
Coheed and Cambria
White Stripes

if i offend u som how by just stating bands of these nature i apologize but these are some very good secular bands

p.s. please if your band cusses dont post their lyrics i dont wana get in truble.... :hits_self

System of a Down and Chevelle are nu-metal, not alternate rock. I know, it's confusing.

The Killers (There aren't a lot of alt rock bands.)

EDIT: Oh, and Incubus could sorta count.
