Art books

Postby Kisa » Sun Dec 28, 2003 6:42 pm

Hmmmm wasn't sure wether to put this in Manga or here so I decided here. . . hope its okay . . . anyway, does anyone here collect artbooks from animes or mangas? I have Magic Knights Rayearth 1 and Fushigi Yuugi artbook now. Thye are both really good and the art is beautiful. If you are a fan of art in anme/manga as well as the stories, then check these out! There is also some for Cardcaptor Sakura as well. (btw these are only the ones I know about anyway) Do you collect them? Can you think of others I may have forgotten about? Leave thoughts please! ^_^

I don't have any of those, but I have the Trigun artbook. It's really neat...^^ I like the concept art type sketches. Can't read it (it's in Japanese) but heck, it's a picture book anyway...

I have the books you have Belldandy except for the Fushugi Yugi one. I love my Cardcaptor Sakura one - which is actually the only one which is mine. *hehe*

Me and my kids collect art books. I mainly buy them for the kids, but I love to look at them too. We have both the Magic Knight Rayearth hardcover art books, chibi-chan bought those. I bought her the Tenchi No Shippo artbook this Christmas. I also have the Neo Ranga and a Slayers art book. There's the Devil May Cry artbook which is great, but it's not really anime. I love the InuYasha art book my son has. I also have two really cool ones of Fruits Basket and Digi Charat, those are just too cute. We def collect the art books. LOL I have a bunch, but I don't have them right here where I can see them right now. Since both my kids are budding artists it goes with the territory. Is there an art book you've been wanting for your collection?

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.

I didn't buy mine (it was a gift) but I think it was purchased from Anime Nation. You have to be careful searching for stuff there because they sell hentai, though...-_-

There was a local anime store, Planet Anime, that I bought my Fruits Basket art book from; but the store is now closed down and I bought it over a year ago. I also live near another great anime store, Anime Pop (it used to be called Pop Culture) that we get a lot of our anime stuff from.

I also get a lot of my stuff from Asylum Anime out of Pittsburgh, Kansas. The owner is really nice and I've met him at Animefest here. We've been buying stuff from him for the last two years. I always try to get to know the people before I buy from them. I tend to befriend a lot of people and then know them for awhile. The girl who used to work at Planet Anime is now the artist for my manga and one of my closest friends. LOL

Wow, I just went on another rant. Sorry. ^_^

I have a few artbooks.

Hikaru no Go
BackGammon 1 and 2 (Saiyuki)
Evangelion 1 and 2 (the ones by manga artist Sadamoto), preferred 1 since 2 reprinted anime pics...
Detective Conan

I'm a big fan of artbooks and would like to collect more if it weren't for the fact that I move alot. ^^
