Mave's Visit to Texas - pics of the Chloe household

Hey, this last week we were blessed with a visit from Mave. She came out, read manga, played with our three dogs, read manga, went to Waldenbooks and the mall - spent all her money, read manga, drove down to downtown Dallas and Southfork Ranch - you know, where they filmed the show "Dallas" in the 80s? - and then read more manga, watched "Gad Guard," and sang karaoke. She has a pretty decent voice. *hehe* She's gonna kill me. She goofed off with Elric and chibi on the computer and showed chibi how to make wallpapers, drew lots of pics, and then read more manga.

On a more serious note, I enjoyed chatting with her in person and she is a very wonderful young Christian woman. Thanks for coming down here Mave.

It's a pic of Mave discussing the serious story line and art of Pita Ten with my son, known as Elric. It was an intense artist discussion. As you can see my daughter, known as chibi, is to the side snickering over it.

This is a pic of our manga library with our Viz standee of Excel to welcome visitors. We charged Mave very little to lounge on our blue recliner and read manga.

Wow... heh all I got is oo9 and digi charat. one of each that is. Wow... so that's Mave? heheh, that's so cool! I think I spotted the infamous Love Hina. Lol. I wish I had someone to come and visit me liek that. (Or anyone for that matter, so that I would be the oonly one into A/M in this house.)

The last pic is of chibi and Elric on our couch in the living room. Mave and I were standing over at the other end.

Well, we've talked a lot more via AIM and on the phone before I invited her down. We've been working on some projects together. It was a lot of fun and the kids enjoyed her company. She also needed a break from work and it was a good respite for her.

Recently, Shatterheart and I went to Texas to visit Ashley, and we also met Turbocat. (There was also a lot of buying manga, reading manga and so on, too ). It's awesome meeting other CAA members, and Shoo, if you get the CA meeting off the ground, you guys might have to deal with a certain Gypsy coming from Maine to join the fun.

I'm glad that you all had the opportunity to meet, though. How much progress did you make on the projects?

Chloe, thanks for posting this! Although I must say, I'm terribly embarrassed that my pic is here. I'm just an ordinary human being, everyone!

OK, what did Mave learn from this trip:

1) Texas is a cool place! It was hot and humid but wasn't that bad (well at least, in those 5 days I was there). I'm used to my country's weather, which always reminds me of a gigantic convection oven. It's more flat and spacious than Michigan but really, what do you expect from the biggest state in the U.S? And I love the "Don't mess with Texas" phrase.

2) I shouldn't feel guilty about my manga collection. LOL the Chloe household's A/M collection is astounding! That's why I bought a whole bunch of manga when I went shopping with them later on. Woohoo!

3) Chloe is a talented musician as well! She can play the guitar, compose songs and sing beautifully! I got the priviledge of watching her play her songs! I did karaoke with Chloe, singing old songs and it was one of my most enjoyable parts of the whole trip, eventhough I couldn't sing as well as Chloe. XD XD

4) Chloe took great motherly care of me and I was constantly reminded of my good old times back home with my own mother. *sniff, homesick* But really, I'm very happy she's in CAA watching over you guys as well. Really, the Chloe household was very very generous in having me around and I'm so totally unworthy of it. *bows* (I know, bad grammar ^__^)

5) Elric-kun is a bishie in real life and a very nice one too. XD I totally approve the unofficial Elric-kun fan club! Gotta dig his lovely long locks and yes, he drinks Mountain Dew.

6) Chibi-chan is such a sweet gal. She's a fast learner, quickly whipping out wallpapers after I showed her a few tricks on Paint Shop! And if her hair was a little longer, I'd say, she's the closest person I've ever seen who resembled Tohru Honda of Furuba. Both Elric-kun and Chibi-chan get along very well with each other and I really enjoy hanging out with them.

7) Dogs are nice. I was never really a dog lover until I met my boyfriend and Chloe's dogs. They are such adorable and fun dogs to have around. ^^

8) Homeschooling is something I've never really heard of but it seems like a good idea. XD

9) The vacation served to remind me how fast-paced my personal life in Michigan has become and really made me wonder whether that's what I want in life.

I hope to meet other CAA members. Next year, I'll be jobless (haha) and would like to travel down to LA. Maybe I can meet you Californians then ^^

I'll be travelling to Las Vegas this mid-July for a conference and probably New York/Boston in August. hehe anyone live nearby these areas?

I have to reply to Gypsy's question regarding if we had any progress on our projects. What do you think, Mave? Hehe, yes I think I can finish the script now. Mave had some great input and she had some very helpful comments. We came to some conclusions and Gypsy... that site I told you to go to, the beginning has now changed - so don't pay attention to it.

And, I'm using my frequent flyer miles and heading out to California as soon as you organize that California con, Shoo. I've been promising to take my kids out to my home state for awhile - what a great reason to go.

Well, there is a pesky little convention occuring in late July, and if you come during that Saturday you can celebrate my birthday.
