Black Friday/Cyber Monday

So, any of you Americans get any good deals? I'm looking at the "sales" here, and there's nothing cheaper than it was last week. And yet, retailers are complaining that people are hopping the border instead of "buying Canadian". Well jeez, I wonder why. If you're going to complain about that, actually make an attempt to compete!

Er, no thanks. I don't feel like traveling 1000Km+ during winter. Besides, the price on gas would offset the deals anyways.

If there's a will, there's a way Nate.

...I'm sure you can pick up a cheap Samsung Galaxy S3 today, it has both inner and outer cameras for... personal calls.

Forget the crowds. Shop online. (Not that I'm going to)

My thoughts on the matter.

Nothing worth the $1 I spent on the paper. Unless you're buying a TV or computer every year, black friday isn't worth getting up for. Then, if you are buying those objects, you're trading the lower price for the risk associated with the fact that you don't have sufficient time to review the product in order to compare it to it's competition.

lol if you think going across the border will actually save you money unless you live in like St Catherines or Windsor

Well, that's a given. I used to live 3 hours from the border, though that was still a bit of a stretch. Still worth it if you planned on making a large purchase.

I saw what you did there.

I went shopping a little bit. I mostly go for the experience, not the deals. Most of the crap I actually find isn't even on sale anyway.

I did it all online and it is going to be ship to us. I don't care to play in the midnight madness.

The only place that I did went out was a clothes store around 4 pm and it was nice to go in and get 50% on everything and there was only a few people in there.

So, yeah. I'm not a fan of open that doors at 12 am and try to kill each other.

Online shopping is the way to go anyway.

I did virtually all of my Black Friday shopping online on Thursday

:D

I made out with getting my bro's Xmas gift (Firefly, on sale for $8) and some DLC from Steam.

Today I did end up going out, though, because we needed a new Xmas tree (really nice one was on sale for, like, $120 off. Everyone wanted one, and we were early enough to get one)
A new sewing box
Cloth to make gift bags (and ribbon and thread as well)
A sewing box for my mom (and pincushion, measuring tape) and a box of cards so she could write people
Books
Hot chocolate in adorable collectable tins

and a bunch of toys for a Toys for Tots event I'm going to in a week or so. Almost every one was under $5, and there were a lot of good ones like Candyland and Chutes and Ladders.

EDIT: Oh, and new clothes for dad, since he hasn't packed a spare pair of pants and his were practically standing up on their own :/ He bought me a new pair of slippers, though, so almost worth the 45 minutes in line.

I rarely shop for gifts. I can usually make whatever I want to give, unless it's for a guy, like my brother. I actually went out and bought something for his birthday.
I never do Black Friday, although everyone else in my family does. Here, they start their sales the night before, so no one gets trampled or anything.

My sister in law did Black Friday and crawled under and around people to get to the $5 barbies. My mom on the other hand would rather be beaten than shop black friday.

She'd probably be getting beaten if she did shop Black Friday.
