Hey guys...just wondering if we have any Pastors Kids in the forums...
I just became one a few months ago (though, it seems like it's been longer since Dad's been apart of our churches leadership way before).
If you are a PK, what's your story? What challenges did (or do) you have to face? Did it bring you closer to God or farther away from him?

Yep, I've been a PK all of my life. My dad was first the music pastor at a large church, then he upgraded to associate and music pastor at another church, and now he's been a licensed pastor for around ten years now.
I feel like there is no difference between my relationship with God now and if I wasn't a PK, except for the fact that I've grown accustomed to going to church for all three services in the week, and I probably wouldn't otherwise.
The only problems that I have with being a PK are the constant attention the congregation feels that they have to give to my brothers and I and the stereotypes of PKs, which can be true to an extent, but I have such a weird family that it doesn't really apply to us.

I'm a pastor's kid! *Waves hand around in the air* He's actually a chaplain in the army, so he doesn't have a permanent church to preach at, plus he works alongside a couple other chaplains.

I've got a lot of pastors in the family, including my own dad. It did prompt me to consider that life myself, though it turned out it didn't suit me so well. That's the effect I see in most folks--it puts church life on the front of your mind instead of the back. This isn't always a good thing.
