Or do any of you guys start reading a thread and think of something super awesome and meaningful to say only to find out that the thread has been locked?

That happens to me sometimes too.

Hehhehheh... sometimes ^^;
I guess if that does happen again, I think you're allowed to make a new one ^__^ Especially, if you weren't around for the first time around to discuss it and I'm sure others (who also were not around at the time of the thread) would appreciate the discussion as well ^^ Well, it actually depends on the topic ^^;
This reminds me of something elsewhere I was going to day, but I stalled and didn't do it.. xD;;

That used to happen to me all the time.
I can post in locked threads now though. XD But yes, it's a very frustrating feeling! XD

When I saw Corrie had posted in this thread I was worried for a moment—

I have that problem all the time seeing as I don't get on much.

So. Many. Times. I have readied my pointing finger, assumed the "OBJECTION!" pose and started to type when I look at the post button and... "Locked."

It's be pretty ironic if this thread got locked.

Not often to me. I'm bored, 'net addicted, and swift with the witticisms. It may be why the women love me and men want to be me. In fact, I'm offering the secret to my success now in this easy three week course for the low low price of six payments of $44.95(US).

Honestly, I thought about locking it just for the lulz, but that would have prevented posts like this:

Lol, one of the perks of being a mod *Whistles Innocently* XDDD
I would do this all the time (Post in closed threads) at SA, becasue one of the admins would go on closing sprees xDD I'd get pretty interesting reactions XDD Like,"WHY ARE YOU POSTING IN A LOCKED THREAD?"
The only reason why I would do that, because the main admin would say,"No closing threads unless it's absolutely necessary (absolute chaos or bot post).", so I ran away with it and was a rebel 8D

If this was back at a website where I'm a mod I would have locked this thread.
But unfortunatley I lack the POWA!
So I will simply comment to say that this does happen to me. It is quite frustrating. XD.

Oh, all the time. Some stupid jerk CAAer posts someting totally idiotic and all the way wrong, turning the thread into one big inferno of a flamewar, and before I can step in and impart my godlike, inarguable wisdom just to shut everyone up once and for all and make them see things right (i.e. my way), BAM! The thread gets locked by some ignorant moderator.
Sheesh.

In all honesty, I have never felt the need to post in a locked thread.
Maybe I'm too nice, but even if I didn't get a chance to respond to someone who was arguing against me in a thread, I didn't care much. XDD;

No, I always find these threads that are open and I totally always think of something super awesome and meaningful to say but then after I do they get locked.
I'm sure it's just a coincidence though.

Actually, once I really think of it.. I haven't ran into alot of already closed threads that I typed out a whole page for (then realizing it was closed) XDDD
The only reason why I went against Admin's words was because he didn't state a reason why he was closing the thread o.O Oh wait, I remember now.. It was because he didn't like the thread o.O

No, because if I see that a mod has posted last, I usually look to the side of the title and look for the Locked Icon
it looks like this.
only 25 times smaller.

It happens every so often. I read something on the forum, I say to nobody in particular "Oh, I got just the thing for him/her!" I start typing, I click "Post Quick Reply" and then...crushing failure...

This has happened to me a few times too - particularly because of the time zone issue. Sometimes a particularly controversial topic is brought up (*cough*Obama-turned-image-thread*cough*) after I go to bed at night, and then there's a frenzy of awake people on the other side of the world whipping up a storm in the thread, then it gets locked before I come home from work. Some of those times I do wish I could unlock the thread just to contribute my opinion (ie. true correct undisputable facts), then return it to the locked state... Josh was spot on there.

I totally agree. Some threads are just closed way too quickly, even when the conversation isn't getting at all explodey.
I propose that if a topic suddenly gets hijacked to turn into an image board thread, we keep it that way. That Obama thread was major lulz.
