Hmm... I find this funny.....

Postby Link Antilles » Mon Feb 09, 2004 9:24 pm

I’m not sure where to put this and maybe I'm posting this 'cause it's late at night and my mind's in limbo..., but.... you know what I find funny? I'm not really an anime fan.... I mean, I like it sometimes..., the only series I really watched was Gundam Wing and the old school transformers.... yeah, I've watched a lot of other shows, but only sparsely.... . Seriously, nowadays, I rarely watch TV and that's just for CSI, Techtv, and MSNBC. I just find this funny.... I mean, I came from a Star Wars forum and left to find a new one.... a Christian Forum.... so, I search for a Christian game forum site.... and found a post Straylight made on another forum leading to here. I think life's funny, I mean, I’m Star Wars geek form South Carolina that’s moderately active member on a anime forum. Yeah, I am interested by Japanese culture, samurais, mechs, and video games from Japan. The reason I joined a while back was, because I thought you guys were cool and I was right! And yeah, more cool people joined Anyways, yeah..... so far I've had an awesome time here.... even though I mostly read posts.... it's been really interesting…. the good and the bad, the ups and the downs. I've learned a lot here.... yet, sometimes I still have no clue what you guys are talking about in the anime sections, sometimes. In short, you guys are cool and kudos to the Admins and Mods for this splendid Christian community.

Btw, my main question am I the only semi-non-anime person here?

*ducks from a possible attack*

Nope. I don't consider myself a true anime fan either; I mostly just like the general drawing style. I do like some series, though: Hamtaro, The Bush Baby, and Sailor Moon (partly). Otherwise, I wouldn't say I'm hardcore.

Be thankful you're not alone, Link. ^_^

Far from the only one. I've seen a decent variety, though I'm not a rabid anime fan. But I think shooraijin might have a bit in common with you.

My anime viewing seems to decrease with time (then again my time seems to decrease with time, which might explain it. :P ). I do visit the anime forums sometimes, although mostly I just see people talking about weird series that I have never seen. Most of my anime viewing experience has come through CN's toonami, although I do have a fair amount of anime on dvd. The only tv I really watch these days is Conan O'Brien, the Daily Show, and the occasional History Channel documentary or stand-up special on Comedy Central. Still, I will continue to visit this site, even though I can't keep up with all of the anime discussions. :)

I love anime and manga but I rarely watch anime. ^^; I don't think I would fare well in a "how otaku are you" test.

Random CAA member -- "yeah, I can't believe it... his name's jedi, he's holding a lightsaber, and he's a star wars fan??"

Anyway, I don't watch a lot of anime either. I just think the art style looks cool :)

I watch anime occasionally, so I wouldn't call myself a fanatic =)

I'm actually a bigger gamer than anime fan. I watch stuff like Runroni Kenshin, SuperGals(is that sorta like guys liking Superchick?), and of course, Trigun. I'm with you, Link.

This alliance is for anyone who applies to the word "Christian" or "Anime." We never specified you had to be a fanatic. Don't feel bad about it. To each his/her/its own.
