How come Posts concerning Politics aren't allowed here? I just can figure out the reason why. If anyone knows can you please tell me? Thx in advance.

Because not everyone holds the same political beliefs and those sort of posts are perfect fuel for a flame war.

Agreed. I've seen more than enough politics, and the last place I want to see it is here ^sigh^

Right. As Christians, we should be focusing on things that bring us together, not tearing each other apart. For reasons Bobtheduck pointed out, politics is the perfect field in which to do this. Besides, this forum is supposed to be about anime, not politics. Political debates, or even discussions, really have no place here.

True, but remember we are in General forum, where you can talk about anything. Though I would have to agree with the three of you. Politics could really brake us up. Escpecially since most of it is opinion. Though I am sure people here could respect other peoples opinions.

No, I'm afraid anything about denominations or politics have both been declared off limits. Check the guidelines for this section if you aren't sure.

Yes, I know that they are not aloud. I was just telling you that we were in the General forum, were most stuff is allowed to be talked about. Sorry about that.

I see. Not a problem. But we're drifting away from the point of the thread. Have we answered your question, aznmagic2015?

The primary question has already been answered, but I'll comment officially anyway. Whether we should allow debate threads, political issues, theological discussions, and things like that all came up as we expanded. Each time I came before God personally and asked Him to direct my decisions about what I should allow for my community. I felt He was directing us to be a place of fellowship primarily, so that's why things like denominational issues (i.e. how often to take eucharist/communion), political issues and the like are not to take place here. There are hundreds of other christian forums that do allow you things like that, so I encourage you to go get your kicks elsewhere. These things usually cause friction, controversy, and hurt feelings even among polite face-to-face believers, let alone cold, toneless text boards, which is the last thing we want as a fellowship.

let alone cold, toneless text boards

For some reason this makes me think of superman typing away on his home computer...

Temporarily supposing the official stance was not posted, I'd say that keeping politics off the board serves another purpose. Even if you (read: one) are being nice when you say that my political views are different from yours, I still think about that when I read your other, un-political posts. (Even if it's subconsious).

Bottom line: It does not contribute to 'lifting one another up.'

Not at all. Anytime that you have a question about pollicies, feel free to ask. ;) We don't have huge secrets about why some rules are in place, but we don't expect everyone to be mind readers either, k?

I agree...politics ruin Christian boards. Keep them off, keep them off...

I can understand about denmoniation/doctrine debates...well I'll keep that thought to myself since I'm still a newbie.

We've never actually had a denominational debate, to our credit. But it's an age-old battle in the Christian history, so we just set it up as a precaution.

I turned into "US" again. For some reason oldphilosopher has problems confusing me with major countries. I'll draw the line when you address me by "Dominican Republic."

Has anyone else noticed this thread is serving no real purpose anymore? It accomplished what it was meant to. I say we lock it before it becomes a Goof Off type thread. Unless someone else has something important to say...

Or. . .we could move it to Goof Off!

Or we could just keep on goofing off until no one come here. Personally, I think that's much more effective...

Then again, I'm INSAIN!!!!!!

Or maybe I'm just in a river somewher... HEY! I DIDN'T MEAN ..HEY~! DON'T THROW2!!!! HEY!!!!!!!

Please ignore these cries... Insanit.. SHUT UP! y and all.

sorry... He's a REAL wet blanket, etc...

The only reason I wouldn't want to move it to Goof Off is that serious messages were posted here, and they should count toward people's post count. Also, others might see this thread if they have similar questions and get them answered.
