Now before you start i cant prove this happened, my parents recieved this in the email. I wouldnt beleive it myself if i dont remeber hearing something about this a while back

"BEAR STORY

The downloaded pictures are of a man who works for the US Forest Service in Alaska and his trophy bear.
He was out deer hunting last week when a large grizzly bear charged him from about 50 yards away. The guy emptied his 7mm Magnum semi-automatic rifle into the bear and it dropped a few feet from him.. The big bear was still alive so he reloaded and shot it several times in the head.
The bear was just over one thousand six hundred pounds It stood 12' 6" high at the shoulder, 14' to the top of his head. It's the largest grizzly bear ever recorded in the world.
Of course, the Alaska Fish and Wildlife Commission did not let him keep it as a trophy , but the bear will be stuffed and mounted, and placed on display at the Anchorage airport to remind tourists of the risks involved when in the wild.
Based on the contents of the bears stomach, the Fish and Wildlife Commission established the bear had killed at least two humans in the past 72 hours including a missing hiker.
The US Forest Service, backtracking from where the bear had originated, found the hiker's 38-caliber pistol emptied. Not far from the pistol was the remains of the hiker. The other body has not been found.
Although the hiker fired six shots and managed to hit the grizzly with four shots (the Service ultimately found four 38 caliber slugs along with twelve 7mm slugs inside the bear's dead body), it only wounded the bear and probably angered it immensely.
The bear killed the hiker an estimated two days prior to the bear's own death by the gun of the Forest Service worker.
Think about this:
If you are an average size man; You would be level with the bear's navel when he stood upright. The bear would look you in the eye when it walked on all fours! To give additional perspective, consider that this particular bear, standing on its hind legs, could walk up to an average single story house and look over the roof, or walk up to a two story house and look in the bedroom windows. "

to put that in perspective no pistol (maybe a high calibur hunting pistol or the .5 desert eagle would do anything (my dad says they wouldnt) would do much damage, shotguns would be useless (besides maybe dragonfire rounds) my dad acctually had the same type of rifle that killed the bear, he is a strong guy and not small and he was even stronger when he was younger, he says its all you can do to keep the rifle in your hands when you fire it, due to how powerfull it is. I acctually have one of the bullets in my hand and i have to say its huge!
makes you feel all safe doesnt it when your in the woods.

....Um......it takes a bear slug to kill a bear and you need at least 10 of them to kill a Kodiak in its tracks.

Hmmm, this is true but it's an old story. My roomate at college recieved this article in his e-mail 2 years ago at college. HE also reciever pictures of the remains of the hiker that the bear ate a few days before it was killed. They were pretty graphic... err extremely graphic, but yeah, I remember seeing this.
The Straight and Narrow

I chose to walk the straight and narrow road, but one day I lost balance and fell off it. I had fallen onto some sharp rocks and injured myself. There were people passing by who would merely stare at me, and then keep walking. Thoughts of worthlessness entered into my mind, and as I chose to believe the lies, my wounds grew worse. I was so overcome with grief that I nearly gave up... but then a man walked up to me and stopped. Without saying a word, he started to wrap my wounds, he gave me some water, and then lifted me up and embraced me. He then whispered these words into my ear, "I love you my child." As he said those words I could feel all the worthlessness and despair fall away. He then held out his hands. They had huge holes in them. He then said, "Walk with me." I then took his hand and we walked together. Every now and then I would fall from the road, but no matter where I fell, he was always there to pick me up and tell me that He loved me.

I didnt see anything about the possible age of the bear. Any ideas? Perhaps a modern day dinosaur of sorts as well? (not like thousands of years old, but hundreds maybe?):wow!:

The bear's size is quite possible, actually.

But I'm against bear hunting. So many magnificent beasts go to waste just so some hunter can have his "fun." Come on! It's not like you can eat them. :shady: Of course, this bear had supposedly killed someone, so it's different, but it didn't know any better. If I were in control, I'd have had it tranquilized and taken to a zoo or somewhere else where it couldn't kill anyone.

Buzz. Sorry. :P The article on snopes.com states that the picture of the hiker had nothing to do with the bear. It was an unrelated photo that I guess someone thought would be cool to add on.

That's one big freakin' bear though. I wonder what the world record is too. Those guys are lucky to be alive, though. ^^

Anybody here about the similar "Hogzilla" ordeal awhile back?

I only know what snopes says:

"Although this is presumably a genuine photograph of human remains gnawed by one or more animals, it has nothing to do with the bear pictured above. This photograph comes from a completely different source and was only tacked on as an addendum to the bear story after both had been circulating independently for over a year. The bear shot by Ted Winnen was not known to have killed any humans. "

Myoti's right. Some people are actually bothered by pictures of ruthlessly-slayed creatures. That is so disgusting. Could a mod please remove the pics? Please? Perhaps a link could be given for them if anyone, for whatever reason, wants to see them.

This is a G-RATED website, guys!

heart of sword i think myoti was talking about the picture of the human hand gnawed of with other human remains. Also hunting IS NOT ruthlesly slaying animals. that is called poaching and that is illegal. if i want to go out and kill a dear or rabbit or other animal to use it thats fine as long as im not going rampant and desemating the country side, the animals are ours and we were ment to take care of them but it is fine to hunt...

I think the man killed the bear out of self-defense. Not for sheer game.

Anyway. That is a very creepy thought. I don't think I'll go camping out in Alaska anytime soon....>.> O__O

Do try to keep your rhetoric and propaganda to yourself. You are correct only in the fact that this is a PG rated site, thus some pictures should not be posted. (The pics in question actaully fall under the PG rating despite your personal feelings. Compared to the violent nature of most anime fans here confess to liking, those aren't nearly so bad)Consider this your final warning for flaming hunters. HoS. Thread Locked.
