You can decide on oldphil's new avitar!

This is post I of a two part post. For those of you just joining the discussion I had with myself in the 'post your picture' forum, I'm thinking about changing my avitar. After over 100 days of looking at the same freeky dude, I feel you guys probably want to see something new. So I've decided to let you all help create my new avitar. (Translation: Charlie Brown did better in drawing class than I did; I need your help here).
Part II: When we get 5+ images that you guys select (And after I've thrown out any 'poop-smith' genre of entries...) there will be a poll, and whichever image is ahead 7 days, will become my new avitar.
Spec Sheet: Here's what I'm looking for: (I'd rather have orignal than not - as I'll keep this one until at least 1000+ posts.) The long bearded, well aged, 'wise looking' type character. (Think Gandalf). Since I can't draw (really - I have no hands!) I wen't searching on the 'net. The best I could find was this pick of D. Evidently, this makes lots of people think I'm goth. Which I amn't.
So there you have it. Help me, please!

Okay, here's one... It might be too evil for ya', considering who it's based on.
I won't be AT ALL offended if you don't want to use it... Plus it loses a ton of detail when it's avatar-size.
(Copyright 2003 Erin Metcalf... that's me; only Oldphil has permission to use it.)

I like it! It even fits the description pretty good. (Wasn't Gandalf an old philosopher of a sort?)

Hmm.... This is getting interesting...
wolf: nice! I didn't know you had that at avitar size yet.
mm: Good point
rash: when that first came up I almost fell off my chair. lol.

Okay, I can help, but can I have your VHD one, the one your using currently?

Hmm. That would REALLY get confusing. How about this:
Let everyone get used to my new one, and then you can use it? Give it a few weeks, then take it. Sall-right?

You know, if you just trimmed the outer edges (to make it kind of a circle instead) it might make it distinct enough that everyone else wouldn't get confused.
OK. So we have 3 now. We still need another 1 or 2 before we can vote.

Yes, but then it wouldn't be the shear beauty that it is.

Nice. Although...ahh heck I am sure she is very wise.

Hmm... That's tempting... Presenting a (possibly) female avitar may confuse people, though.

You could always select your gendar, if that is what you mean.

The problem is, someone "UPGRADED" the system, and blew away my 'mail
' preference under gender.
I'm too bitter to go back and select a 'real' gender.
*grumble*

That's a guy. He's from Castlevania. Soma Cruz.

I like Castlevania. The best was Symphony of the Night, 'cause Alucard was so dang cool.

You have. Me. But that's okay; I know better now that we have those nifty gender symbols...

So what you're trying to say is that you are a woman?
"That's not exactly my point..."
I say the crying game... Don't make me heave!
