I had my new digital camera with me and these are some of the things I saw on Friday:

A few more photos from day 1

Postby termyt » Tue Jun 14, 2005 2:33 pm

This kid made a great Luffie. He seemed amazed at the number of people who wanted his picture, but of the 58,395 Luffies I saw this weekend, he was the best.

I don't recognize them all, either, but I did think there were quite a few very good costumes. Here are some more:

I definitely noticed a paradigm shift at the con this year. Gone were the legions of Sailor Scouts, replaced by something called "Narutards." I'm not sure that I approve of that term, but I'm not sure I don't find it funny, either. I did manage to find three scouts, though, and here they are:

I think that was Sailor Moon's real hair.

BTW, my friends and I are seriously considering Ohayocon next year.

You are too modest. Your costume was very good. Award winning, even.

So who's who in the pictures? Are any of you guys in them (obviously desperado, but anyone else)?

Those pictures are fantastic, Desperado. Your costume was really, really, really great. That was probably the best Balmung cosplay I've ever seen.

I'm not in any of these pictures and if any of them are CAAers, they're keeping silent about their presence there.

I'm considering making a costume for next year, but we'll have to wait and see.

Anyway, here's some more pictures. I'm glad desperado found those really good ones of himself. i got one of him, but it turned out very blurry. I'm not much of a photog.

There were a ton of Final Fantasy cosplayers there this year. Here's a cute Rinoa:

And the long awaited "Battle of the Eds" took place here:

And now to my personal favorites:

Uh...wow. I NEVER would have expected to see someone cosplay Silent Hill. That triangle head is REALLY good...although very disturbing. Wow. Just...wow. Nice.
